Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes by Bwaye are also good, another 4 1/2* I use Yukon Gold rather than the Red Skinned and I have to double it for our gang,(I have a hugh slow cooker) And I leave out some of the butter, sour cream and cream cheese. The hint about laying a clean hand towel over the top but under the lid is great. It absorbs all that extra moisture.

Plus using a slow cooker frees up valuable stove and oven space on the busiest cooking day of the year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I made these last year. SO good. Weren't you the one recommending them? Don't know if I will make them again though. BF wasn't a fan and I ended up eating them all by myself.

Good Morning Lisa. I want to come to your Thanksgiving! Everything you are taking sounds delicious! I have been bad about planning this week. The only thing I know that I am making is manicotti for today. The rest of the week is up in the air.

My brother isn't coming either. It is just us and my parents as well. I love my parents but I miss the days when it was a big family reunion. All the grandparents are gone now and it just isn't the same.

Iceemama, I know what you mean. My parents and my hubby's parents have been deceased for a long time and it's just us and his brother and my brother and sister. We always talk about the memories though

It is sad. We always laugh about past holidays too. The years we go to my in-laws is better because my husband has two sisters with families and grandkids. Seems more special that way.

First year EVER the family will not be together, sigh. We are having dinner with friends that are having their family meal on Wednesday. We'll keep our meal very simple and have lots of adult drinks.
