marmalade
[ MAHR-muh-layd ]
A preserve containing pieces of fruit rind, especially
CITRUS FRUIT. The original marmalades were made from quince-the Portuguese word marmelada means "quince jam." Now, however, Seville oranges are the most popular fruit for marmalades.
