Yankee Victory

The 2009 contest went to the New York Yankees, who defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win their 27th World Series.

It's been nine years since New York City was littered by a World Series-inspired ticker-tape parade. If you can't be there in person, why not bake a load of cupcakes and sprinkle them with candy confetti.

If that's a bit tame for your tastes, pour yourself a classic Manhattan and raise a victory toast.

Suit up in team colors, hang pennants, and break out the baseball memorabilia. (Protect your more precious artifacts under glass.)
Hold a baseball trivia contest. Funtrivia.com has loads of great baseball Q&A.
Serve snacks from a vendor's tray. Decorate a cardboard storage box lid, punch a hole on either side, and tie on a wide ribbon that's long enough so you can hang the tray around your neck.
Don't kill the ump! Pass out plush toy baseballs instead and throw them at the screen if you want to contest a call.
