Zinfandel is a true California original!

A zany shape-shifter, Zinfandel grapes produce wines that play across the spectrum, from light rosés to fruity reds with acidic zip to big, tannic monsters loaded with spice.


Pairing it Up

Zinfandel is an amazing food wine. It goes with just about everything that Americans love to eat: ribs, pizzas, burgers, chili, roasted meats, pasta with red sauce, and much more. For a classic California experience, try Zin with a grilled burger topped with Monterey Jack cheese! It's also a good pair with ethnic cuisines, particularly moderately spicy Mexican meat dishes and tandoori chicken or lamb.

    I create my own Zinfandel wine cooler by adding some ice to the glass, then ginger ale + a little Marachino cherry juice or grenadine..... About 3/4 glass of wine, then ginger ale/cherry juice to taste. Delicious.

    I love wine...esp Zinfandel...and I also tried "Panos7777" creation and that was delicious as well.

    While living in Italy, we fell in love with the Primitivo grape (among a few others) and drank it often. When we moved back to the states, we tried a bottle of zin and were amazed at how similar it tasted. Come to find out, the american zinfandel is grown from the italian primitivo grape that was brought to california years ago. we're so relieved to have found one of our favorites here without having to pay through the nose to get it (now if we could just get someone to start growing Aglianico and Nero d'Avola in the states, we'd be set!)
