Where's the protein? In the cheesecake?

The protein is all over the place in that menu. The wild rice mix has it if you pair that with a bean you have a complete protein. I'm not running them to find out exactly how much. http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm will explain exactly. Don't assume you MUST have a dairy product or meat based product to have protein. That's what they taught in the 50s. We are sort of past that. I think you'll find the article interesting and it will give you lots of good ideas.

It's funny, I've been a vegetarian all my life and its true, its not hard to get all your proteins via nuts, vegetables, and legumes. There's a lot more variety to vegetarianism than just pasta and salad. :D This is a great menu that shows the kind of versatility out there.

Can't we all just enjoy these fantastic sounding - and, hopefully, tasting - recipes, without getting hung up on the "Nutrition Guide" for once???!! I think sometime's we're all just so caught up in the numbers and "daily recommended guidelines" and percentages around food, we forget what food's meant to be - to sustain, to give nutrition and energy, and above all, to enjoy - don't think my grandmother 80 years ago would have been quibbling about protein contents - she would have just been serving up great food for her grateful family! Just enjoy, everyone!!

Ugh. That's one of my hated blanket questions when people find out I'm a vegetarian. Hard to believe I still get asked this, after all of the information out there today! I usually say that I get the protein, without getting the bad fat and cholesterol. :) Kaylin, me too! It's great to hear of another veggie-all-their-life! I am very happy to see allrecipes.com providing menus for everyone! Thank you!

Also, we do add a great seitan recipe as our main dish to our Thanksgiving meal. I find this helps veggies who still miss turkey or want the meaty feel to the meal. This year I'm still doing that, but also providing gluten-free vegan alternatives.
