Ah Chili! There is no such thing as the best chili recipe. To each his own is what I say. after forty years of trying to "perfect" the best chili ever - you will always have some people dislike something in your "perfect" chili. To bean or not to bean, too much this and not enough that, too spicy not spicey enough the list could go on. Best advice is to find a good base then experiment - till you find the taste that suites you best. Due to the proportions of ingredients I am always willing to try everyone and/or anyones's chili. Till the end of my time I honestly believe that I will taste some very good chili - even some great chili - but alas I feel I will never taste the absolute perfect chili!

I may not have the perfect chili recipe, but have never found anyone who did not like it. Others cannot match it even using my recipe. Not my own son who has watched me make it, nor his chef at work. When my friends find out I am making a pot of chili, they come with bowls and spoons in hand.
