Sparkling wines aren't just fun! They're remarkably food friendly, too.
What to Pair with Sparkling Wine
Sparkling wines are so synonymous with celebration they're often overlooked as a wine to be served with food. But they’re actually very food friendly. Their acidity keeps them fresh and lively, keeping the palate on the alert, and their lowish alcohol level doesn’t overwhelm food.
Sparkling wines pair well across the board, from fancy and sophisticated foods (Champagne is a classic match with caviar, for example) to no-frills salty snacks (like french fries, potato chips, and popcorn) and fried foods like fish-and-chips. It loves them all!

Where Sparkling Wine Calls Home
Champagne is sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France. It's the cream of the crop (and you'll pay for its pleasure). If you want less expensive French bubbles, look for wine labeled crémant. In Italy, inexpensive Prosecco is a smart choice. Spain offers Cava--a good deal. And in the United States, sparkling wines come from California, Oregon, Washington, and even from less well-known places like New Mexico.
Add sparkling wine to any meal and you've got a party on your hands.
