Give your guests the red carpet treatment. Literally. Lay out a length of red material (cotton, felt, vinyl etc.) leading up to your front door, and play paparazzo as your stars arrive. Get them to strike a pose and snap their pics with a digital Polaroid for instant souvenirs of their big night. More stellar ideas:
- Create a guest book for each star to autograph.
- Dramatic arrangements of white flowers seem to exude Old Hollywood glamour, so splurge a little.
- For a touch of exclusivity rope off the viewing room and get a friend to play "bouncer," lifting the rope as each celebrity enters.

Time your party so your guests can fill out voting ballots before the awards ceremony begins. Prizes can go to those who predict the winners in each of the major categories, or award one big prize to the guest with the most correct guesses. Clever rewards could include movie rental coupons, candy, packets of microwave popcorn, entertainment magazines, movie posters, movie soundtracks or miniature Oscar statuettes.
