Movie Menus: "There Will Be Blood"

By:   Carl Hanson

During the rise of the American oil industry, one man’s single-minded drive for wealth and his desperate desire to destroy all competition threaten to tear apart his soul.

Allrecipes has gathered some recipes to enjoy while rooting for this Oscar® nominated film.

Shh, the Movie's Starting!

There isn't a lot of eating in this movie.  It's like all human pleasures and desires (you name 'em) are subjugated to Mr. Plainview's sole desire to destroy the competition and become rich enough to get as far away from the rest of humanity as possible. Okay, this is not entirely true. He does enjoy his whiskey. A lot.  And there is one scene in the movie where Mr. Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis) actually eats--a big steak in his empty, echo-chamber of an enormous estate. If you want to be true to the film, eat it with your hands!  Make it bloody. And chase it down with a double bourbon, or less authentically, the Manhattan recipe below.

And for dessert? Make it a milkshake. Better drink it fast, though. As Plainview says in the movie, "I drink your milkshake!"
