Movie Menus: "No Country for Old Men"

By:   Frances Crouter

Cook up a menu that traverses West Texas and across the Rio Grande, and watch this tightly wound, carefully paced thriller.

Tip back your cowboy hat and get ready for some nail-biting suspense: this film has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including best picture, best director, and best supporting actor.

Shh, the Movie's Starting!

It seemed like a good idea at the time: Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), out hunting, stumbles across a drug deal gone bad. He tracks down the last man standing--who, as it happens, is no longer standing--and takes a satchel full of money. Unfortunately for Llewelyn, an attack of conscience brings him back to the scene of the crime, and right into the sightlines of the bad guys. He is pursued by the baddest of them all: a cold-blooded killer named Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem). Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) reluctantly follows the trail of carnage.

Suggested Eating:

Lucky Cakes (bake a lucky quarter in each). Serve with a bottle of milk--still cold.
