When Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) wakes up to an empty house the morning he and his family were supposed to be on a plane to France, he thought his wish had come true. He'd done it--he'd made his family disappear! Not quite. They overslept and someone didn't get an accurate headcount.

As Kevin's mother (Katherine O’Hara) desperately tries to get home, the little guy has to defend his home against a couple of bumbling robbers (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). In the process he realizes the only thing he wants for Christmas is his family back.
