You make it so simple. I assume the same method and treatment can be used on Beef? (For those of us who are pork intolerant.)

Cooking with the fat helps the flavor and texture, but my sister and myself have separately found that not carefully picking the fat OUT of the meat while shredding makes for disgusting mouthfuls of fat in the sandwich. While we have used different recipes, I feel sure this holds true with any recipe. I look forward to trying your version, and thank you for making it look so easy. I'm sure some young cooks are much less afraid to try new recipes because of your help.

This is just what I have been looking for. I don't like having my oven on for hours at a time in the summer, so the slow cooker method is great! Thanks so much....can't wait to make it!!

love pulled pork, but that meal suggestion was horrifically unbalanced! YUK

Per the comment by "SpiritSweet" on the fat, Tyler Florence on the Food Network makes a point about the necessity of pulling the pork apart (hence the name of the dish!) to remove as much of the fat as possible. To Ezilu's horror over the "unbalanced" meal, get over that; this meal it is what it is, and a good roll, beans and slaw is all you want or need. Mmmmmmmm, Mmmmmmmm, Good! ;)

Wow this pulled pork looks good. I have never made this before. I would have thought the pork roast was too fatty. I don't use pork often. But I will try this. Being served on a roll with slaw, baked beans and potato salad sounds easy and wonderful.

Great video! I agree with Spirit Sweet though...My husband and I can't stand bits of fat in anything! I would make this with a leaner cut of pork and hope for the best.

This is an excellent recipe and have made it often. You can use a pork loin but the meat tends to be dry because of lack of fat and you must use the broth to moisten. A shoulder or butt is better.
