You can't have pecan pie without its secret ingredient--corn syrup provides its signature texture and flavor!  Which flavor to use?  Some prefer Karo Light; others will only use Karo Dark and still others like to use a mixture of half light and half dark corn syrup!  Looking to cut calories?  Pecan pies are excellent with the new Karo Lite Syrup!

Karo syrups in any flavor have always been a favorite for pouring over pancakes, waffles or hot cereal.  It is easy to customize your syrup by adding fresh seasonal fruits like strawberries, blueberries or peaches.

Use Karo Syrup to make easy and delicious glazes for meats.  When brushing glazes onto barbecued or broiled meats use lower temperatures and brush glazes on at the end of the cooking time to prevent burning.

Make your own hot fudge sauce for ice cream by combining 3/4 cup Karo Light Corn Syrup with 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk and 1 package (12 ounces) chocolate chips.  Microwave until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.  Experiment with different flavored chips for example mint, peanut butter, or butterscotch.

Sweet tea anyone?  Karo syrup is a delicious sweetener for iced tea!  Just add 2 cups Karo Light Corn Syrup to 2 quarts of hot tea.  Chill and serve!

Five reasons to use Karo Corn Syrup in recipes:

Corn syrup controls crystallization when making candies such as caramel, fudge or peanut brittle giving a smooth, even consistency.

Essential for smooth frozen desserts, Karo Corn Syrup prevents the formation of ice crystals in frozen desserts such as frozen Key-Lime Pie.

Want to enhance the fruit flavor in jams, preserves, fruit syrups and glazes?  Add corn syrup into the mix and you will have a rich smooth flavor that really lets the fruit shine.

Sweetens and thickens glazes, relishes and sauces. Corn syrup balances sweet and sour flavor profiles making it a key ingredient in many Asian sauces.

When baking, corn syrup holds moisture and creates a satisfying, chewy texture in cookies, brownies, and bars.

Measuring Tips:

For easier pouring: Coat measuring cup with cooking oil or spray before measuring corn syrup. The oil prevents the syrup from clinging to the measuring cup.

Simple measuring guide: 1 (16-ounce) bottle = 2 cups
