Homemade Christmas Centerpieces

Bring holiday cheer to your table with these fun and easy centerpieces.

Allrecipes and Better Homes & Gardens are teaming up to help you have a very merry Christmas.

Pretty on a Plate

To make the centerpiece pictured above, arrange ornaments on a platter, along with magnolia leaves and tiny berry sprigs. If you’re using artificial magnolia leaves, spritz them with gold paint for a shimmery look. Mix and match colors and styles of ornaments until you get the display you want.

Holiday Under Glass

Show off pretty ornaments and add sparkle to your Christmas table by placing them under a glass cloche or bell jar. Choose a size that fits over a shallow white bowl or simple plate, then select your favorite ornaments to display. Accent the centerpiece with sprigs of lemon cypress or evergreen, and elevate the plate for visual interest.

    Cake Tray Creation

Dress up a tiered cake tray with evergreen sprigs, glass ornament balls, pinecones, red berries, and other holiday elements for a no-fuss Christmas centerpiece.

      Holiday Color

This eye-catching Christmas centerpiece trio is super easy to make. Simply soak florist’s foam spheres in water and cover with red carnation blossoms, pinning flowers in place when necessary. Place the festive red balls atop white ceramic vases or urns for a classic Christmas display.

      Tabletop Forest

Bring winter greenery to the table. Arrange miniature yew trees--available at your local nursery--in a galvanized tray. Fill in with moss, and add purple and white eggplants to create an all-natural centerpiece. To prevent the mini trees from drying out, keep them out of direct sunlight and water twice a week.

        Soft Glow

Turn plain white paper bags into holiday luminaria. Trim the edges of each bag with a large scalloped-edge punch--or you can use a simple hole punch--and weave Christmas ribbon through the openings created by the punch. Secure with double-sided tape. For safety, use battery-operated tea lights to illuminate the paper bags from the inside.

        Simple Greens

Drape an evergreen bough across the center of your table for a simple, fragrant centerpiece. Accent the bough--real or faux--with bright red flowers and sprigs of white berries.

        More ho-ho-ho for your holidays!
