Healthy Snacks: What a Zoo!

By:   Mackenzie Schieck

Kids will eat through these creatively presented snacks like a pack of wild animals.

Kids always seem to get a kick out of food that looks like something else, so this time we're going with a wildlife theme!

Don't Worry, They Won't Bite

But feel free to take a bite out of them. After all, who can resist an apple that looks like a ladybug, or bread that looks like a turtle? Not the little ones, that's for sure--it's a great way to get them excited about eating these nutritious snacks. And why not let the kids play with their food? Kids can help assemble the Apple Ladybug Treats and Ants on a Log for a fun after-school activity. If you've got a big group to feed, fix all of the snacks and let the kids graze (no pun intended), or choose either the Apple Ladybug Treats or Ants on a Log, and pair with either the Animal Crackers or Turtle Bread. (Use whole grain flour for the Turtle Bread.)
