Small is beautiful. Place mini pumpkins at each place setting to hold a place card. Pin the cards into the side of the pumpkin and offer the pumpkin as a party favor. If you prefer, write directly on the pumpkin with marker or a glitter pen.
Fill 'Er Up. Hollow out pumpkins to hold votive candles. Pick a larger pumpkin and after cleaning it out, insert a cylinder vase. Fill the vase with water and arrange with flowers, such as mums and dahlias.
Here's how to turn those pumpkin seeds into tasty snacks!
Raising Squash. Set a buffet table with pumpkins raised on candlesticks, candelabra, cake pedestals, and upturned stemware. Vary the heights for an interesting display.

Pumpkins on the Mantel
Stack 'Em High. Stack mini pumpkins in a simple cylinder vase for a lovely, vertical display. Same-color pumpkins make a sophisticated statement.
Pumpkin Swag. Create a garland by threading cored mini pumpkins onto hemp twine. Add knots at each end of the threaded pumpkin. Embellish the garland with leaves attached with hot glue. Hang the garland on your mantel or over a window.
Painted Pumpkins. Add elegance to your mantel with pumpkins painted in pastel or metallic shades. If desired, hollow out a few and place candles inside. (Never leave a lit candle unattended.)

Pumpkin Wreath. Decorate a grapevine wreath with mini pumpkins, dried or faux fall leaves, nuts, mini ears of Indian corn, or sprays of wheat or grasses. Attach with hot glue and hang on the front door.
Here's My Number. Stack squashy Cinderella pumpkins in graduating sizes on an urn at your door or porch steps, removing stems from all but the top pumpkin. Using stencils, trace a number of your home address on the front of each pumpkin. Scrape away the skin of the pumpkin inside the traced lines or paint the number on the skin.
Owl Be There. Fashion a family of owls to nestle on a front step. Use small pumpkins and gourds for bodies and use hot glue to attach sunflower seeds, feathers, and nuts to make facial features and suggest wings.
