Burgundy wines
The Burgundy region in eastern France produces a group of superb red and white wines, though four times as much red is bottled as white. The white wines, made from
CHARDONNAY grapes, and the red wines, made from
PINOT NOIR or Gamay are considered the world's best examples of these wines. Some of the better known wines of Burgundy include those from
BEAUJOLAIS, Pommard, Beaune, Meursault,
CHABLIS, Pouilly-Fuissé, Chambertin, Corton, Romanée Conti and Echézeaux.
