British Columbia Wine Country: Fraser Valley

By:   Carl Hanson

Weather conditions in British Columbia produce wines that are balanced between ripe fruit and mouth-watering acidity.

Located along the fertile delta where the Fraser River spills forth from the mountains, the Fraser Valley is BC's agricultural heartland. The valley benefits from cooler temperatures and a longer growing season than the Okanagan Valley. The main grape varieties grown here are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Gewürztraminer.
