Seattle, August 24, 2006 — Fueled by fresh content and a growing bank of recipes, Allrecipes.com, America’s largest recipe Web site for home cooks, reached a new membership high of two million active, registered members in July. Soaring membership rates and nearly seven million unique visitors helped Allrecipes.com finish the month as the second most popular Web site in the food and beverage, and food and beverage lifestyle categories, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.

Allrecipes.com has experienced rapid growth in recent years, doubling its member base since 2004 and logging a 54 percent increase in unique visitors over 2005. The site is also preparing to launch new content and recipes for the upcoming holiday season, which traditionally increases Allrecipes.com’s unique visitor traffic by as much as 50 percent. Allrecipes.com experienced more than nine million unique visitors per month in November and December of last year.

“Reaching two million active members is another significant milestone for us this year, one in which we’re very proud,” said Bill Moore, president and CEO of Allrecipes.com. “Increased membership, record site traffic and our new relationship with Reader’s Digest Association are all indicators that Allrecipes.com is more than meeting the needs of the American home cook.”
