The judges’ decision is in! Anel Schmidt’s recipe, Turkey Mercedes, stood out among the rest to win the $10,000
prize with the best taste, visual appeal and originality. “What pushed Turkey Mercedes to the top was that it combined
great flavor and succulence with attractive presentation, and, to me, represented a creative, meaningful take on a traditional
American holiday favorite,” says Allrecipes.com Food Editor and America’s Top Recipe judge Carl Hanson.
Named after the winner’s mother, who died when Anel was just 19, the recipe is “drenched in flavors my family has
