Lacking something. I'm a good enough cook to know what. I will have to read other reviews to see if other suggested something.

Rhubarb Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
My husband liked it but said he's like more rhubarb. He isn't a peach person so I made a half and half dish of apples (for him) and peaches (for me). It's a good alternative to other desserts.

Creamy Onion Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
Pretty darn tasty. . . I think real garlic always supercedes using just powder when the occasion arises. Other than that keep to the recipe. Watch out for that always tricky broiler though. The thick creaminess of the topping is more susceptible to burn than most things. Literally a window of just a few seconds between done and burning. But just slice it up once its done and toss the pieces in a bread basket like you would with any other loaf and I guarantee it will be a party favorite. . .

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
My husband who usually doesn't like things too sweet really like these cookies. When he gets a new employee at work I try to make a batch of cookies so other will drop by their office and get to know them. There have been a lot lately so I needed a new recipe. Another to add to my box!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
My favorite dessert! We enjoy this at all holiday dinners (and when ever else I am not lazy enough to make it). I even eat it for breakfast the morning after the holiday ... it can't be worse than a donut, right?

Banana Banana Bread

My husband makes this bread and the whole family loves it. This recipe is a most have! We always use all the leftover bananas we have no matter how many or few; it just changes the intencity of the banana taste.

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
What a great base! I used stew beef instead so we had chunks of beef. I made this as a cold dish by cooking it in the crockpot for 5 hours on high then refrigerating it. I dished it up with cheader cheese, sour cream, and avocado. CHANGES: I used a 15oz can of tomato sause. I added some green cabbage to hide another veggie in it. I diced it thin like an onion and just through some in the pot... no one noticed/knew.

Runza (meat pies)

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
So I see this is a Big Red reunion! I am also from NE and have been looking for a REAL Runza recipe since we live in Seattle now. I have told my husband about them, but he has never had one. He loved it! This recipe is the best because the dough is wonderful because it's not processed buscuits flattened out. Someone else commented that the sweetness of the dough counters the bitter of the cabbage and it does! This is now a family favorite!

California Peach and Almond Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
I added 1/4 tsp of salt like one review said. I didn't peel the peaches and the whole things was great. This isn't a very sweet dessert and that I what my husband and I loved about it. However, my husband wishes there was more topping so maybe I will make a double topping next time.

Warm Crab Dip I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
I've had better (see: Warm Crab Parmasean Dip). . . And for some reason I can't really enjoy a dip/spread of seafood proportions without including such preferrences as Worcestershire, lemon, tobasco, extra garlic, and some pepper. . . Just a few things that no seafood dish should be without in my eyes. . .
