perfect! worked great for my kids to decorate cookies with. I make up several batches and added food coloring to each, then used paint brushes to decorate.

I thought these were very easy and so delicious. They didn't stay a perfect ball when baking though, they flattened just a little on the bottom side. I have had some baked by others before that kept a perfect round shape... I would like to know how they did that!

I thought these were okay the day I baked them, but the next couple days they were awesome! I froze half my batch and they seemed even better than the day old ones. They kept their shape and froze very well.

Watergate Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I love this salad and this not the way to make it. Followed the directions as written and tried to save it by adding milk, but next time I will make the pudding first according to the pie filling directions, as it calls for less milk. Once set I will add the pineapple, followed by the pecans. Lastly I will fold in the marshmallows and whipped topping. I have also had it with coconut which is good, but my husband doesn't care for it.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
3 out of 3 of us rated this 5 stars! Put this together in 15 mins. and when we ate it, it tasted like it could have taken hours to make. I left everything exactly as written and wanted to make that homemade taco seasoning that the reviewer said but i just didn't have the time. after dishing this up, i put crunched up tortilla chips in, shredded extra sharp cheddar and a big dollop of sour cream. Made a batch of corn bread and we were in heaven. Having for lunch today! will make this often and use the beer, it's wonderful!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
ok, this was amazing! Made this Sunday for my sons Birthday and the whole family loved it. even the kids were chowing on this. made as written but think i added a touch more green chilies and also baked in oven instead of microwave. used the small baguette breads that I broiled in oven for a few minutes and it was really the best for this dip. This is now going to be at all gatherings from here on out and so quick and easy to make!

Made this with the changes that were most noted in reviews. added 4tbls. cocoa powder 1/2 regular 1/2 dark choc. Yummy! did the oil and more sugar. added full 2oz. of red color and it was rather dark, next time i'll use maybe 1oz or 1 1/2oz. the cake was delicious as was the frosting! my 11yr. old son and i made this for his Birthday party for the family and they all loved it as well..only a few pieces left over which isn't usually the case!

Pork and Green Chile Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
This was so fantastic! I had about a half of a pork loin roast i had made for dinner one night and decided to use it up a little differently this time. Glad I found this recipe! instead of brown instant rice I used my regular jasmine and since I didn't have any black beans on hand, used 2 cans of white beans and 2 cans of diced tomatoes so that the casserole would be more moist. used a mexican blend of shredded cheese as well and boy did our entire family really dig this dish!! we had it for left=overs at least twice which is rare in this house! Thanks and I WILL make this again!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
This was delicious! I had two chicken breasts I needed to use and needed to make a quick dinner. I didn't have pasta sauce but opened a can of stewed tomatoes and added all the italian seasonings and garlic etc. to beef it up. I also used some shredded mozzarella cheese for the top. I browned the chicken put them on the bed of sauce and baked for about 20 mins. then added the cheese on top and baked another 10 mins. fantastic dinner, hubby and I loved it.

Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
At first I didn't think that anyone else had problems with this dish. I had to search through all 1,000+ ratings in reverse order to see that others had my results too. The crab cake was lacking egg and cracker crumbs and ended up just falling apart. I used to make crab cakes fresh after catching/cleaning with my parents back home in WA, but now in TN I tried using pre-cleaned store bought. I don't know if it's a difference in the fresh v. frozen texture or truly the lack of egg+cracker. All I know is that right now I'm making the worst crab stir fry ever. This did NOT take on the cake form for me at all.

Tasty Collard Greens

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Wonderful greens. The first time I've made greens and it was so easy! Having just moved to TN from OR I was getting a lot of flack about my "Yankee cooking," but now my friends are thinking twice. I bought 2 bags of frozen, chopped collards (the store's fresh bunches looked less than fresh) and subbed 2# smoked ham hocks for the turkey. Also I added about 1 tbsp each of onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. I also added about 2 tbsps of butter just before serving. Will def make again SOON. Thanks!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
Tasty and easy! I made one 9x5 loaf and two 8x3's. The bread not only smells wonderful, but is super moist and not too sweet. The flavor is very mild and perfect with butter, or just plain (how my Mom prefers it). I plan to give these out as gifts, and was delighted with how they turned out. The only thing is I did end up baking them for around 75mins as other reviewers have stated. They came out perfect. Next time I'll try substituting the oil for applesauce!
