These are terrific cookies - we have been making this same recipe since I was a little girl. My 10 year old makes them all by himself- so easy and wonderful!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly and these were pretty good. The dough was really good, but the cookies tasted just like the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I usually make. I will be sticking with my regular recipe.

Best Whole Wheat Chocolate Chippers

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
These truly are the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! Made even better by not using white flour, in addition to the W.W. Flour I added some Flax Meal. I didn't do nuts this time, maybe next time. I baked them for the 10 min. suggested and let sit on the cookie sheet for 2 min. and then moved to cooling rack. Perfect! Only other suggestion is that if you have a dog, keep these and any chocolate away from him. My 2 yr. old puppy ate 1/2 of one before I could catch him. Chocolate can kill dogs. Thanks for a great recipe. Oh, and have a cold glass of milk available for dunking.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I loved this recipe! It was tasty, although I recommend doing the egg wash again and re-breading it. Much better. Also instead of tomato sauce, i recommend putting a high quality marinara over it. Yum!

Authentic Korean Bulgogi

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
My family loves bulgogi. The recipe I got from a Korean friend doesn't include the wine, pear juice, sugar or mushrooms. Since I don't cook with alcohol just used more pear juice for the wine.

Orcchiette Pasta with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This is a great recipe. Very close to one I got when stationed in Italy. The main differences are the sausage wasn't used and after blanching the broccoli was sauted with the spices. The Italian lady who taught me to make it used the same pot and water for boiling the pasta and blanching the broccoli. Just blanch the broccoli first, scoop it out and cook the pasta. She said it didn't add anything to the pasta but saved water and using two pots. It has been the most requested recipe by my children when they leave home.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Very good. I made my own crust and actually forgot to peel the apples, but it still turned out great! I do think I want to work on the filling some and figure out a recipe so the inside isn't as runny, I want my pie to hold up! This was my first apple pie with lattice top!

Hawaiian Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This recipe turned out awesome! I cut the recipe in half and added honey to the warm water/yeast mixture to help activate the yeast. I also turned them into dinner rolls and gave them a light egg wash prior to baking. Made these on Thanksgiving and everyone loved them. I'll definitely be making these again, a perfect bread to make hum bows!

Absolutely wonderful! I went ahead and made the cornbread the night before so it was easier to work with the next day. I only omitted the green pepper, but kept everything else the same.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I do a lot of custom meat smoking and tried this brine instead of my custom blend. The ingredients are simple and you can find them at any super market. It leaves the turkey moist and flavorful the way it should be. Just remember to stir your brine every 4 to 6 hours after you place your bird in the brine if you can for a more evenly moist bird. Even if you do boil the salt down the ingrdients will settle. Great Brine . PS. i am a good cook but my spelling not so good.

Cheater Pot Pie

I've made a similar recipe but instead of biscuits, I use refrigerator crescent rolls and to really be quick and easy try plain old veg-all. Use the chicken soup, milk and canned chicken as called for. I'm telling you, quick, easy AND good!

Layered Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Great peppermint bark, I made EXACTLY per recipe. NEXT TIME I will do this: 1) Omit cream from chocolate, it makes it too soft and melts on hands too easily. 2) Melt ALL of the white chocolate at one time and spread on sheet, layer with 1/4 crushed candy 3) Spread all of the semisweet chocolate on top of chilled white chocolate, the semisweet chocolate has a strong flavor, so make the top layer of the semisweet chocolate thinner than the white chocolate ( I was temped to use equal parts chocolate just because I had the semisweet chips left). 4) Sprinkle with the rest of the crushed peppermint candy. Like I said, I tried the exact recipe and the semisweet chocolate didn't ever set up correctly.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I didn't have steak rub so I used a pork rub I had, it worked well. While cooking I got a strong vinegar smell but the meat didn't have a vinegar flavor. It did have a nice flavor and was very moist, the outer layer of the meat had a very good flavor where the marinade had baked on.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Really liked this. My husband said it was good and he's not a big asparagus fan. Didn't add the basalmic vinegar because I made a roast that was marinated in it and didn't want to have balsamic vinegar overload, I will use it next time. The cheese melted nicely and paired well with the asparagus.
