Beef Cabbage Hash

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
This is really really yummy and it makes the house smell soo good while cooking. I didn't have any worcestershire like someone suggested but I used one packet of Lipton Onion soup mix and I used chicken broth instead of the water. Very very good. Will make again.

'So This Is What Heaven Tastes Like!' Cream Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
These bake up so nice! Really yummy! I left the nuts out altogether and made an 8x8 pan with just chocolate chips (for the kids) and another 8x8 pan with chocolate chips and dried cherries. Both were good but the dried cherries really took these bars to the next level. I went a little light on the dried cherries because I wasn't sure how it would taste.. next time I will definitely add more..YUM! Brought these to two different houses of people and everyone loved them!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

We made this for a large group of people, and EVERYONE loved them! That, to me, shows how excellent a recipe it is...! Easy to do, too. Some people weren't used to eating things in lettuce ;) so we provided flour tortills, too. Everyone raved!

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
I thought this recipe was good. I took others advice and only used half the sugar the recipe called for.. definitely sweet enough. Next time I think I will make the following changes: Add a little cinnamon, mix some of the chocolate chips in and save some to sprinkle on top (many of my chocolate chips sank to the bottom), blend the banana with the liquid, and I will also add more bread than the recipe called for. This recipe is a little more custard like and so I hope by adding a little more bread to soak up the liquid a little more. Tasted great though.. especially warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Loved this recipe which came recommended by a friend. A keeper for the recipe box. Easy to make and could even be made ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake for dinner.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
Made this after having it at a very popular asian restaurant... couldn't tell the difference. One thing I changed was instead of ground beef I substituted half ground beef and half ground pork which I am told is a little more traditional in this dish.

Rhubarb-Pineapple Jam

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I made this today. Had to halve the recipe because I didnt know what 10 cups of rhubarb looked like lol. I got 5 of the Ball Freezer jam containers full of it. My 2 year old daughter is eating the last about 1/2 cup that wouldnt go into the cup right now as I type this. Its like an applesauce consistency and she is loving it.. she just said "Mom... mo?" That is enough proof for me lol.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
This is my default scone recipe, though I always mix up the flavor! I have done lemon-blueberry and raspberry. With raspberries, they get a little wet, so I kneaded it in extra flour, keeping it moist on the inside and drier on the outside. Would also be good plain.

Chicken with Herb Sauce

This is good, and really simple. I made it using fresh herbs from my herb garden and it was great. I've made it twice-once for company and once as a quick dinner on a busy day. Worked for both!

This is DELICIOUS. I follow the recipe exactly, just I double the rub. I've made this multiple times and everyone loves it! It gets asked for by request when I offer to make dinner for family and friends. I serve it on top of couscous as an easy and simple side :)

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I have made these muffins MANY times... and every time I make them, they're gone by the end of the day and people are begging for more! (Hence why I've made them so many times!) I followed the recipe exactly the first few times, with amazing results- 12 giant, moist, delicious muffins. I've also substituted in vanilla or strawberry yogurt (whatever kind I have on hand, all have turned out well.) Recently, I've also started cutting the sugar in half, which still leaves delicious, moist muffins- and no one can tell :) One thing I do differently is I use 3 bananas. Its more than a cup, but it turns out perfectly!

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Today I wanted to make coffee cake and went on a hunt for a recipe that I had all of the ingredients for... settling on this one... And it was delicious! I didn't use the streusel topping... and I added a bit of cinnamon to the mix... baking it in a bundt cake pan for 30 minutes and it turned out PERFECT! Great flavor and great consistency!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Wonderful and easy! The dough rose flawlessly for me, both times. My only issue was that it was a little sweeter than I was looking for, however I believe it's supposed to be sweet, next time I make white bread I will use this recipe again, but use only half the sugar and hope it works as well again. Great recipe!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
I've made this dough twice now- the first time it was FANTASTIC. Super easy, fast and delicious. Put any chain pizza to shame. The second time, I gave it to my boyfriend to make... And quickly learned to watch how much flour is put in. Be sure to not just scoop the flour out, spoon it into the measuring cup; otherwise, the dough with be impossible to work with. Still, delicious! I added some Italian seasoning to the dry and it turned out really well.

I used other reviewers advice and added my fave seasonings to my liking. Also did a thin layer of mayo. I added some pepper and McCormick grill mates garlic & onion medley seasoning about two tablespoons. This seasoning is so good everyone should try it!

Vegetarian Cottage Cheese Patties

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I made these tonight for dinner and OMG they were soo soo good. I followed the directions exactly except I had no thyme so I used parsley and also before I friend them I dredged them in flour. The first one I made flat before I dredged and it wanted to fall apart in the frying pan so the others I made balls out of then I rolled them in flour and laid them in the frying pan and used a floured spatula to flatten and they were perfect. Oh.. and I added a little worcestershire in my mushroom soup. These were so so amazingly good. My kids loved them and both of the boys had 2 each of the patties. This one is a total keeper!!!
