Pork Chops with Garden Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Was easy to prepare. Used chicken broth instead of water. Everyone loved it with except for the picky eater. He isn't much of a pepper fan, but my husband and 15 year old loved it.

Sugar Glazed Walnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I used Splenda, and they turned out just wonderful. I used these in an apple spinach salad for my daughter's wedding. I served the nuts to the side, in case folks were allergic. It really added a touch of elegance, and guests raved. Several asked for the recipe. I will be using them for my Christmas salad as well. Thanks for helping me add elegance and flavor

Apparently, a lot of people love this recipe. These cookies didn't do it for me. No "wow". I'm going to keep looking. I tried some drop sugar cookies from this site that were much better tasting.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

I've only ever made this with ordinary milk because I didn't have any evaporated milk on hand, but it still turns out a winner. This is my favorite chocolate frosting recipe. Thanks for sharing it definitely!

Pasta with Tomato and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
Made this for dinner tonight. It was good, but needs a little more pick me up. I cooked the onions and garlic in the bacon fat and added some garlic and onion salt but it still needed something. I'm not into to spicy foods, but I'm sure my husband would have added some pepper flakes to the sauce. I served it with a veggie and garlic bread.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I used this recipe to make two round loaves of bread. They looked beautiful, and tasted good. But the texture was not what I was hoping to achieve. Inside the crust, the bread is soft and fluffy more like Wonderbread sandwich loaf than San Francisco Sourdough(as other reviewers have mentioned). I believe it's due to the addition of milk. It's a fine recipe. I just think it could be given a more fitting name.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Was pretty good! I learned the hard way howevwe that with the pizza dough, NEVER take a piece of it out, (even if its dirty), cause when you open it all the way up, there's was a big hole in it. Thats just so u know, other that that I think next time I will stick more with the actual recipe, and use mozarella chese.

Smoked Salmon Alfredo Sauce

Dish was good. Was very similar to tuna casserole. Infact I think dish would have been better had it been prepared as instructed but placed in baking dish and topped with crackers or bread crumbs and cheese. Then baked for 30 or so at 350. Until top was brown and cheese melted

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Exellant! This is the first main dish I made all by self, and it turned out great! I used about half a bag of both of shreded Gouda and Edamer, instead of the other cheses. I also used a can of Mexican corn and beans and a can of big purple beans. I used their juice and added it to the paste, and only added a little bit of water. I also had chili mix, instead of enchilida mix. And I forgot to add the onion powder, although the chili mix was strong engongh that I believe it made up for it. All it all, it was delious, and the mistakes turned out for my bemifit. If I added the onion powder it probably would've been too spicy. i ate the left overs willingly!

This recipe was great! I made it for my parents and I, and even though it was only the second thing I cooked by my self, it turned out delious! This maindish is full of commelements! I used alvaco instead of sourcream, added 1 can of mexiacan beans and corn, and only had 1 can of plain corn. Then I had a 1 can of big purple beans. I like to add the juice of the beans for falvor. For cheese i used a bag of shreded cheses two kinds. Other that that I think thats all the cratitivity I used for this one. It turned out very good! I even ate the left overs!

Mom's 'Sweet 'n' Sours' Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Very easy to prepare. I love the fact that I had the list of ingredience in my pantry, and that some of the ingedience were substitutable with others. An example would be for the vinegar or using brown sugar instead of standard white. If you think i'st a bit on the sweet side, just cut back on the sugar. My husband thought it a bit sweet so I will do this the next time around. I also cooked mine in the oven at 325 for 50 to 55 min.

Campfire Skillet Breakfast

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Loved this recipe. My family and I loved it. I like being able to prepare something that everyone loves in one dish. I did not use a castiron skillet, but a large non stick skillet instead and it turned out great even cooked on the stove. I did pre cook the potatoes in the microwave to speed things along and also pre cut the bacon before cooking to save time. Will make again
