More of a cake than a "brownie" to me..I was hoping for more of a fudgy brownie..I'll keep looking.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I made this a few months ago...not really what I was looking for..Mine tasted too floury and didn't really fluff up. I think I would need to play around with maybe adding more flavoring to it.

Spicy Cuban Mojo Chicken with Mango-Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I'm not an avocado fan so I didn't make the salsa, but I did make the chicken...This was so good! I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and I did marinate them over night..The most moist chicken I have ever made! I would add a little more seasonings the next time, it was a bit bland for my family;s taste, but overall it was great. I'm giving it a 5 star even though I didn't make the entire recipe...Try this chicken it's great!

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
The best Cobbler recipe yet! I have been looking for a recipe that was doughy and finally found one! Don't skip the boiling water step, this really changes the texture to a "doughy" consistency...Wonderful! I didn't end up using the full amount of water, but I did use most of it...I also used double the peaches...

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
absolutely delicious! of course, i had to change the recipe to use what i had on hand. i used bottled lemon juice, and lemon pepper in place of both lemon zest and a small amount of the pepper. i still put in about 1 tsp black pepper. I also used pre-cooked frozen shrimp, and they came out over cooked, so I'd suggest using the fresh or uncooked shrimp. Even with those alterations, it was fantastic and I wish I would've made a double batch.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I listened to other reviews and added 4 tablespoons of cornstarch instead of 3, baked it on 375°F, and let it sit for one hour. The pie made the whole house smell delicious, so I eagerly cut open the pie to see what it tasted like. The pie, although VERY liquidy, looked like it made a great "pile" (a dish I used to make in my childhood, where I'd bake a pie and then literally pile the piece onto my plate, so it looked somewhat like a crumble, but even yummier), so I piled the piece onto my plate. It tasted amazing! I added some vanilla ice cream on the side, and that balanced the tart flavor of the blueberries. Then I let the rest of the pie sit overnight, and in the morning, although still liquidy, I was able to get a solid piece out. I will be making this again, because it made an absolutely amazing "pile".

Absolutely delicious! I've been meaning to make them for a while, and finally got around to it today. They were AMAZING! The cooked batter reminds me of the crunchy part on my stepmom's Southern Cornbread! Soooooo yummy!

Fresh Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I made this last night after going through every recipe on this site. I'm sure the reason it didn't come out was my error, but I won't be making again. It was way too juicy (I think I used way more fruit than it called for) and the topping was pretty bland. This was even after I added some brown sugar and vanilla in the batter..I would suggest mixing in some flour or corn starch with the fruit if your going to make this. It didn't hold very well.

Bread Pot Fondue

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Definitely takes longer than an hour to cook, but it's worth it. Next time I make this, I'm preheating the filling. But there WILL be a next time, my girlfriend went nuts over this! I also substituted bacon for ham, just because bacon tastes soooo much better than ham in everything. We dipped bread and little chunks of salami into this, delicious!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
MMMMMM! These were DELICIOUS! The dough was fluffy and light, and complimented the flavor of the berries. I had a TON of black currant on hand, so I used that instead of blueberries. Even my mother, who despises anything sweet (her tounge is really sensitive), loved these.

Tasty, and very very easy. I just threw some garlic salt and crushed red pepper in with the veggie oil, and shook that all up. YUM! My boyfriend and his friends ate a huge plat of them,we will use this all the time.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This soup really is fantastic! I was craving a hearty vegtable soup, one that I could make during the day, and serve my family for dinner. This is it! The vegtables were all cooked perfectly, and you can really tweak it for your own taste. I added pasta the meatballs (premade) to my husbands dinner, but I just enjoy the soup itself. Some changes I made- I had no fresh herbs on hand, so I used all dried, an "italin" blend, and some additional parsely and bay leaf. I also added a few grinds of lemon pepper. I used carrots, celery (stalks and leaves) canned kidney beans, white beans, and canned green beans. I didn't have any zuchinni, so I cut 3 small potatoes and used those (with skins). I used one can of beef broth and one can of chicken, instead of water( forgot the wine too!). All low sodium... I think that any changes you make will be great! The base recipe is wonderful also, but we made do with what was on hand. For a final touch, I splashed in some worshirtire sauce. Probably not typical, but it gives the soup a richness and brings everything together. Few quick tips- saute the onions, then add the garlic. Onions need more time to soften, and garlic burns rather quickly. And chopping all those veggies really doesn't take more than 5 mins tops. I saw a few complaints about that-what do you expect? Fresh food takes alitte work!

Quick Calzones

i thought this recipe was great. it was quick, easy, and absolutely tasty. i loved the sweetness that the crescent rolls gave to the dish. i wasn't able to do the rectangle part of the directions, due to a spontaneous dough explosion on the drive home. however, it was easy enough to reshape the dough and go from there. i will definitely be making these again!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
This was delicious! I made the whole recipe, and brought the extra loaf to work... everyone can't stop eating it! I almost regret bringing it in! lol. I did make a few changes, some not entirely on purpose. I doubled the strawberries based on others reviews, and mixed 1 cup of sugar into half and mushed it up with a fork. The rest I set to the side to fold in at the end. I used 1 cup of sweetened applesauce instead of oil (ran out of oil), and left out any more sugar. I used 1 tsp of cinnamon rather than what was called for, and added 1 tsp of vanilla for flavor. The end result was great! It turned out with a banana bread type texture. I didn't end up with any problems about it not cooking, though I did add an extra 10 minutes to be sure. I recommend this recipe and will definitely make it again!

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
My husband found this recipe here and now its the only chocolate chip cookies my family will eat! The pudding makes the cookies tender and moist. I'd say it stops them from getting hard and stale, but they never last long enough even get to that point. LOVE THESE COOKIES! The recipe doubles well too, and I always bring them to get-togethers.

Swedish Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
My family loved these! I added an egg to the mixture based on reviews that some people had problems with the meatballs falling apart. (super lean meat usually needs a little help sticking together, fattier meat will not need the egg) Lots of flavor - loved the poppy seeds on the noodles! Even my 3 year old twins liked them, and they usually don't like anything with a sauce or anything new!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Really good! I took some advice from a fellow user and made my tortilla layers 3 thick so they wouldn't get soggy and I'm glad I did. Very easy though and really flavor full and spicy! Was very good with the mexican corn. My boyfriend said we would prefer more beans, and I agree so next time I make this I'm going to try adding a layer of just refried beans in the middle.

Mexican Corn

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
This was awesome! Creamy and cool, mixed with the sweet spicy og the peppers. I modified and used only frozen sweet corn, and I cut up one red and one green bell pepper because I didn't want it smokin' hot! It was perfect paired with the awesome burrito pie that was spicy and hot! I will make this again for sure.
