Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
Soooo good! I used chicken breasts instead of thighs and it was so yummy! The chicken just fell apart (in a really good way) and the pineapple chunks and sauce was delicious on the rice! Will definitely make again!

Man-Lovin' Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
The family loved this. I made a few changes. We had no bacon, and I forgot to add the ham, so we added a 1/4 cup of crushed ritz crackers. We doubled the potatoes because they were small, and it was a little dry. We added cheddar instead of American cheese, and instead of the parmesan cheese we crumbled some cheezits on top. It was wonderful! It had a very strong garlic flavor which I love. We will definitely make this again!

This was absolutely wonderful!! I am a huge chocolate lover so I actually added quite a few more tablespoons of ghiradelli cocoa to the mix, and used Kahlua's Mocha Coffee Liqueur!!! What a difference!!

These cookies live up to their title! They were very chewy and reminded me of the ones you can get from little downtown bakeries!

Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
The flavor is good, but I would not call this a casserole. More of a spoon bread if anything. I was looking for something to jazz up my cornbread to serve with chili. You can't use this as a corn bread. Also, don't put the cheese on top, its weird! Mix it in with all the other ingredients!

Swanson® Ultra Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
To help those who end up with wall paper paste, I cut my potatoes in thin slices or small pieces and rinse them in a collander BEFORE boiling. This technique will get rid of much of the starch that can make glue out of your potatoes. ALSO putting them through a hand held food mill OR a potato ricer makes quite a difference. I use SALTED butter, and add extra salt and instead of pepper I use Mrs. Dash which will really add some pep to the dish. I usually Taste the potatoes up to 4 times, adding seasoning until they are just right.

Tater Tot Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Pretty good! It was a nice breakfast for dinner recipe, and I think it would be very kid friendly. Please don't be afraid to add plenty of your own seasonings and spices. When I make it again, I will use alots of garlic, onion, pepper, season salt, little bit of hot sauce. We also used hot sausage! Remember that potatoes and eggs soak up lots of flavor so season liberaly!

Southern Sweet Potato Bread with Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would..Excellent!! I did make a few changes I omitted the raisins and nutmeg..I used butter instead of oil and walnuts instead of pecans...I also added the juice of half an orange and a dash of vanilla extract....This was better than my favorite banana bread recipe...Husband took it to work and everyone wanted the recipe....the next time I make it (which will be this weekend) I'm going to make it as a muffin and add some cream cheese frosting to it...Delicious! Thank you for the great recipe! Very moist, even after sitting a day!

Deluxe Waffles

I used butter instead of the oil....plus I added brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to the batter....I would recommend serving straight out of the iron...I kept mine in the oven and they had a funny texture to them after sitting for a while...but fresh they were pretty good...I'll try another recipe the next time...

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
My cheesecake is FINALLY done. I took the advice of most reviews and cooked it for the 3 hours on 200 degrees. I did use the waterbath also, just because most cheesecake recipes say to...I used a 9 inch springform pan and OMG the slices are huge! You could feed an army since you can't possibly eat more than a sliver of this cake...So tasty! I did use a vanilla wafer crust instead of the graham crackers...I always use vanilla wafers for my pie crusts...Instead of adding the sugar I just crush up the vanilla wafers mix it with a stick of butter and press into the pan...This is definitely not for anyone on a diet!

Blonde Brownie Nut Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Great flavor. I didn't have pecans so I used walnuts...I doubled the recipe and cooked in too small of a pan which made them a little crunchy on the outer area, but that was my error...I did sprinkle a few chocolate chips on the top...tasted like a big chocolate chip cookie...

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
These cookies are wonderful! I added lemon juice instead of water and 1 Tablespoon of crystallized ginger. I didn't bother flattening them. They ended up flattening after I took them out of the oven. Since I enjoy lemon ginger cookies, I decided to try a lemon glaze (1 3/4 c. powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons melted butter, and 1/4 c. lemon juice). They were wonderful with the glaze as well. But if you enjoy gingersnaps, they are just perfect without the glaze. A family favorite that we will definitely make again!

Tanya's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
My sons and I made these delicious cookies. I haven't been a fan of snickerdoodles in the past, but these are wonderful! The almond and vanilla add a wonderful flavor. They turned out perfectly and my family loved them! It took 10-11 minutes for these cookies to bake. I live at sea level so this may be why it took longer. Putting the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour made it easy to work with. After the cookies have cooled, put them in a covered container to keep them soft. If you like them crunchy, cover them with wax paper and leave out overnight. Great recipe! Enjoy!

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
These are literally the best gingerbread men I've tasted. The flavor is wonderful (maybe it's just me, but most gingerbread cookies are tasteless). I only did a few things differently. First of all, I ground the cloves and nutmeg myself (MUCH more flavor) and added about 1/2 teaspoon of allspice and 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom. As I am a cinnamon addict, I added what must have been 1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon. I also began to knead the dough with my hands when mixing in the powders as the dough was much too tough and crumbly. I coated my hands continuously with water, which pressed the clumps together. When I was tasting the dough, I was thinking the cookies would turn out with much too powerful of a molasses taste. However, once cooked, these cookies were filled with warming spices and just a slight hint of molasses. This was my first time making gingerbread cookies, and this will definitely be the only recipe I use. Thank you so much!

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I just made this for our Thanksgiving meal...Oh my goodness this was the best dessert by far! I did modify the recipe a bit but I think as written it would have been great anyway....Instead of the full amount of white sugar I used half white and half brown sugar...I did add a bit more vanilla, just for personal taste...After reading the reviews I came across someone saying they used a brown sugar glaze over it...I couldn't find a recipe for brown sugar glaze, so I made something up. I melted a stick of butter added some brown sugar (just eyeballed it) and a shot of vanilla extract...I baked the cake in a springform pan, and let it rest for a few minutes. I put it on a cake platter poked several holes in it with a wooden skewer and poured the glaze over the cake...The outcome? The most moist wonderful light cake I have ever had!!! Great recipe, this is a keeper and will be on my families table every holiday! Thank you!

Barbara Bush's Chocolate Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
These cookies were good, a little softer and more cake-like than I am use to, but they settled a sweet tooth. I had to double the recipe to make enough cookies to last a few days for my husband and I. I also had to add a little extra flour to thicken it up so it didn't appear so much like pancake mix.
