Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Did this with 4 large granny smith and 4 large Fuji apples and cut back a little on the brown sugar (NOW WHITE!) for a more natural flavor. LOVE IT WILL MAKE IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!

Sour Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These were ok... I used homemade applesauce (the slow cooked one from this site) and frozen blueberries. Did everything as directed but kinda ended up with a mess- they fall apart in the middle and are stuck to the paper! I might try these again with some changes but as is this recipe wasn't spectacular, just ok.

Slow Cooker Western Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Am trying this next week. So I will update this. I just wanted to add a note that for our hash browns, we don't use the frozen. We put the real potatoes quartered with the bell peppers that are asked for in a blender, fill with water run blender a few times until you have a choppy consistency you like then pour through a colinder. The water keeps the starch from looking burnt and it makes a very colorful presentation. Also the uniformity in pieces size helps it cook better. I will update after we cook this and tell how it went! ;)

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
OK, we ate this yesterday, YUM! I WILL double or even triple the veggies next time though, it was 9/10s meat! LOL it seemed to be missing a tad flavor, next time i will double w. sauce too and add perhaps a T of red wine... smells great while cooking. wanted to note, i too carmelized one onion and two garlic cloves, then added boiling water and beef stock. then poured into crock on top of meat with flour toss and veggies chopped. also added a packet of onion soup mix to the flour mix.

Cheese Potato Puff

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I think it would have been better to make my usual mashed potatoes, add a couple to four eggs and cover the whole thing with at least 2 cups of cheese. As it was it tasted like heavy, bland mashed potatoes with cheese melted on top.

Glazed Carrots

surprisingly yummy!! I never would have thought that adding Ranch mix to sugar and butter would be great. The changes that I made were adding brussel sprouts and juice and zest from 1/4 orange. Subtle enough to make you go "huh?!". I will definately make again!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
OH MY GOSH DOES THIS SMELL GOOD TO COME HOME TO!!!! I could smell it outside my house. This is an awesome recipe because you play with it in so many ways. If you like this with homemade noodles or rice go for it. I used an onion soup packet instead of the dressing mix. You can add any veggies you would find ina pot pie like carrots, potatoes, etc than use krusteaz for a crust or pillsbury biscuits on top for chicken and dumplings... the list goes on and on. the idea of cooking the chicken alone for a roasted flavor is incredible and I will be doing this a LOT. THANKS FOR THE RECIPE!!!

One Pot Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Ok so I had made a pumpkin soup a few days ago that had lots of leftovers. So I used that as a base for this. I poured in probably 1-2c pumpkin puree and 7 c water with only 2 packets of condensed chicken broth. Kept adding water as needed. Came out EXCELLENT! Also carmelized the onions and garlic before adding to the pot. My kids can't stand to know they're eating them so this helps them blend in. Very good and very healthy. I intend on playing with this one a LOT!

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

These seemedjust a little dry. I only put in 1/2 c brown sugar instead of the 1 c. white sugar. Came out really great! Everybody loved them. Also to make them a little bit healthier try using a different oil. I made these with grapeseed oil but next time I may try coconut oil. YUM!

Beef Tenderloin with Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I made this for dinner tonight and I have to say that everyone LOVED it! A 7 y.o. guest had 4 helpings of the meat. Everyone was ooo-ing and ah-ing over the meat, gravy and potaotes. I used baby yukon and baby red poatoes and left the skins on. I didn't pre-boil them like the directions said to because I used baby potatoes. Oh how wonderful it all came together. I will be making this again. Thank you, Clifford.

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Kids had so much fun with this one! I think the flavor was much better than a traditional boiled recipe. The flavor was intense! I would cut back on the sugar, it definently didn't need as much. We cut our apples in rings using a corer + knife. Will be making this again and again! Try using it as a desert filling or in pie or as we did with a crumb topping, vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce!

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
SO FAST and easy! I followed the recipe, but substituted non-dairy cream cheese and sour cream (tofutti) for the real stuff. I only made half of the filling and it was perfect for 2 cans of dough. I just patted the dough into the pan, poured the filling in and laid the other rolls on top. It looked great with the filling peeking through. I spooned on some strawberry jam after it was cool.

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This is a super quick recipe! I was very satisfied - even surprised - with the way they turned out. I've made them twice this week and both times, there were none left over. Everyone liked them. These are great for last-minute pull-togethers! They tasted much like plain white bread rolls, but had more of a biscuit texture, which means you can do so much with them. I would recommend, if you want to jazz them up to go along with a hardy dinner, to add some garlic salt and shredded cheese on the top before baking. Or if you're looking for something sweet, try sprinkling a cinnamon/sugar mixture over the top before baking. But by themselves, these rolls proved to be a great find! I'll be using them often. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

First homemade pot pie I have ever had. I don't think my mom likes them. She should try this recipe. It was so good. My husband loved it. I used mostly chicken broth for the sauce and just added a couple of tablespoon of soy milk. Also added a pinch each of sage and thyme. Can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch.
