Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Tasty! I only had one banana and they still turned out great. Next time I might add a handful of chocolate chips.

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This turned out perfectly. The cheesecake didn't crack or sink. It looked as good as it tasted. I topped it with chocolate curls and served with raspberry sauce. I skipped the chocolate chips only because I forgot to buy them. I did put a pan of water on a lower rack of the oven while baking the cheesecake portion. Partly to prevent cracking and partly to catch any leakage from the springform pan.

Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Very good. I used frozen berries and skipped step 3 like others commented. I didn't have oj so I used water and a tsp of orange extract. I also cut back on the cornstarch because I wanted a thinner sauce.

Spiked Fall Cider

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
This was very good. I adjusted it to serve 18 and made it in the crock pot. It was sweet so you wouldn't want more then a glass or two. I used 2 cans of apple juice concentrate instead of cider and added extra spices. It was perfect and I saved myself $5 which is always good.

My husband loved this and I didn't really care for it. I think you really need to like Rosemary it was just too strong for my tastes.

Tartar Sauce IV

This was perfect with our home made mahi mahi fish and chips. It was exactly what I wanted. If you plan to scale it down use 5 or 10 servings, it divides well there. Next time I might add a lttle dill.

Chicken Puffs

Great! I used biscuit dough instead of crescent and I used green onion instead of yellow. I also added some chicken grill seasoning and forgot the butter. Even with all these changes it was a great recipe!

Slow Cooker Creole Black Beans and Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly and it was great. It thickened up in the last half hour or so of cooking. I served it over brown rice. Can't wait for leftovers. The flavor was good, we didn't think it was all that spicy. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe.

Pumpkin Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Very good, I used 1 cup of pumpkin and cut back the sour cream by 1/4 cup. Next time I would just use the whole can of pumpkin. I baked it in a 9x13in pan for 40min and it was perfect!

Jimmy's Mexican Pizza

Very filling and good. I would have been happier if my tortilla ended up a little crispy. We used ground turkey breast instead of beef and I cut back back a little on the cheese, served with hot sauce and sour cream.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly and it was easily the best peanut brittle I've ever had. (I used salted peanuts). The only thing I would do different is add an extra 1/2 to 1 cup of peanuts.

Oriental Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I used this as a dipping sauce for edamame stuffed won-tons. It worked ok but the sauce was way too salty for my tastes. Next time I would cut back on the soy sauce. I’d also recommend extra ginger.

Edamame-Stuffed Wontons

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
These were pretty good. I thought the filling could use a little more flavor, they definitely need to be served with a dipping sauce. I used the oriental dipping sauce from this site. Also I didn’t love them baked, they turned out a little dry, next time I’ll try pan frying or steaming them.

Chipotle Honey Roasted Peanuts

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
These are delicious I didn’t have chipotle chili powder so I just used all chili powder and it still turned out great although next time I would like to use the chipotle. All the sugar melts so I did end up sprinkling 2 more tablespoons of sugar over the nuts once they had cooled for 10-15min.

Savory Onion Corn Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I don't think this was spicy but it was still very good. I used walla walla sweet onions and fat free sour cream. I also think 1 or 2 tbsp of butter would have been just fine. It was a very nice change from plain corn bread

Hard Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I used hershy's dark chocolate chips to make this and thought it turned out great. I used it to top a cracked cheesecake and it worked perfectly. I also made this in the microwave. I just heated in 10-15 sec incraments and was carful not to let it burn.
