Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed on Nov. 28, 2009 by shandy
I haven't wrote a review in years, but this exceptional. I made this one a couple of years ago, and it's still the best, but I just did things a little differently. My husband grabbed pre-made graham cracker crust instead of the boxed kind and it still came out great. Matter of fact, the filling was enough for two pre-made graham cracker crusts. Definetly use the water bath concept and make sure eggs and cream cheese are room temperature; my cheesecake has never cracked.

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed on Nov. 19, 2009 by daidai
Great proportions of sauce to broccoli. 1.5 cups is about a third of a pound of broccoli. What I did differently was to decrease the amount of water (adding as necessary as it was cooking), bring to boil, add broccoli, cook 5 minutes, add garlic and cook for 1 minute, and added the mixture of the seasonings (although I replaced the sugar and lemon juice with about a teaspoon of Chinese black vinegar). It was really good!

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed on Nov. 19, 2009 by Foodandcats
very tasty! as suggested by other users, i doubled up on the spices (but halved the salt), used powered garlic and ginger because that's what i had on hand, used diced tomatoes, used 3 small onions and tossed in 1/2 bag of frozen peas. boiled the lentils for ~ 5minutes until i realized there was not enough room in the pot so i moved it to a slow cooker until the lentils were soft (~30 min to 1 hr). drained and added curry mix and let it sit in the slow cooker for a while. yum! tasty by itself but a naan or some rice would have been nice
