Asparagus and Goat Cheese Quesadillas

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This combination of flavors is awesome. I mixed some chopped cilantro with sour cream and used it like you woul use plain sour cream or salsa with regular quesadillas. I served it with a small side salad.

Very easy and very good. I followed the recipe exactly and had superb results. Next time, I might try rolls or smaller buns, suitable for individual sandwiches.

This was very easy, and really resulted in a great bread. I made two baguettes and they came out beautifully. I will do this again.

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I've made this twice now. the first time I followed the recipe very closely and it was excellent! Moist with a beautiful combination of flavors, and easy, too. The other night, we wanted it again, but did not have fresh thym or basil, but we did have fresh cilantro/coriander. The coriander mayo mix was delish, but we thought is needed *something*, so a dash or two of Tabsco later, it was perfect. Both versions get a big thumbs up.

I'm only a beginner/intermediate baker, and I loved this recipe. It was easy and the results were fantastic. I've done it several times now, as both rolls and sticks/baguettes.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
This was excellent, not to mention easy! I used Monkfish because it is what we had and is similar in 'meatiness' to tilapia, and it came out great. I not a huge fish fan and we are trying to eat more fish, so this is a keeper. I'm eager to try it on some other types of fish as well.

I'm sorry but I didn't care for this much. It just tasted too ketchupy. I only put in half the ketchup and it still had too much of the taste. I won't be making this again.

Minty Orzo Lentil and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is delish!!!! Hainvg read other reviews, when I relised I was a bit short on orzo, I made up the 50g with quinoa - it gave just that little crunch. I also substitued goats cheese as I was out of fets, and the less salty but richer flavor was fantastic. Will definately do this again.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
We have a cafe and find that having quality gluten free products is becoming increasngly important. My chef loved this recipe as it was very quick and easy; I loved it because garbonzo beans are far cheaper than the almond meal used in most GF recipes. BUT -- the recipe says to grease and 'flour' the pan -- be sure you use corn flour or another GF alternative!!!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Oh so good! I love how this recipe does not include cream of something soup! This tastes homemade and comforting. My hubbby is not a fan of mushrooms so I left them out. Also I took help from the store and I used the already cut up ready to stirfry beef from the meat dept. It was so good over buttered egg noddles. I'm going to make this for my mom when she comes to visit next week. :)

Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
I grew up with my mom making this meal and it is just too good! I have a very picky hubby so yes, I did make some modifications. First off I browned the chicken breasts in olive oil on high heat (just my preference), I only used cream of celery soup (he hates mushrooms), did not add the can of mushrooms, and used the veggie soup mix instead of the onion mix. Oh, I sprinkled seasoning salt on top before I baked it. It was a comforting meal on a cold rainy night, and best of all my picky guy loved it!

Amber's Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Very good recipe. Was afraid to use the 5 spice with littler ones for guest. I did cut down on the sesame seeds but added some sesame oil when frying to make up for it. Like others I tripled the sauce. Added some thai garlic chile hot sauce for some added kick. Will definitely make again.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
I thought this was a very nice twist on the regular tuna salad. I did cut down on the mayo as others have suggested. I did not add the parsley. Only things I added to it was a pinch of sesame seeds and I added 2 chopped hard boiled eggs to it. Wife enjoyed it. The girls did until I told them it was tuna fish. They wont eat any fish for some reason. Should have told them it was chicken salad.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
My puppies LOVE these. Whenever we have puppy-buddies over for play dates I make them as a special treat. Giving dogs pumpkin every day keeps them 'regular'. If you give them a pumpkin cookie before bed time you are guaranteed to have an easy 'walk' first thing in the morning. There are a few things that I tend to do differently. I use stone ground whole wheat flour. I had a bag that I never used because it was too course, but it is great for the dog treats, my dogs prefer it. Also I open a big can of pumpkin and use half of it in this recipe (a little over a cup) and the other half in human treats (pumpkin-spice cupcakes). And finally, for training treats, and this takes a little practice, keep adding flour 1/2 cup at a time while blending with your electric beater. When the batter goes to a popcorn-like consistency pull out the bite size pieces and put on your cookie sheet. You have to ball up the rest yourself or you can roll it out and cut it like the recipe calls for. I haven't bought training size treats since I found this recipe!
