Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
I am giving this recipe five stars because it is a VERY GOOD recipe that MOST ANYONE would at "least" LIKE. My own recipe seems to still be a favorite in my house so perhaps I'll post that one some day. THIS IS A VERY GOOD RECIPE. Once making it, there are changes anyone could make to suit their individual taste. However, that said, I think this is a "CAN'T GO WRONG TO PLEASE A CROWD" basic start recipe! Thanks!!!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
YUM!!! I had been looking for a recipe like the Deli Broccoli salad I enjoy. THIS IS IT, YAY! My husband said he could have used lighter on the red onions, but I LOVED IT JUST THE WAY IT WAS. I can see how you can change this to your own taste. THIS IS A GREAT RECIPE to start with. LIKE IT as is and LIKE it if you change per your favorite taste! GREAT RECIPE, DO TRY!

Oven-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
We really liked this! I only gave it a 4 because I like others better, like the "roasted Cajun potatoes" on this site, but overall this was SIMPLE, EASY and MUCH BETTER than regular potatoes. This is a great BREAKFAST recipe for company, served with eggs or whatever! I thought the BLEND of spices and cheese was perfect. My husband said HE WOULD HAVE USED A LITTLE LESS CHEESE. This recipe could EASILY be altered to add or take away whatever spices/cheese you prefer. Thats why I like THIS RECIPE! Its a good recipe TO TRY FOR EVERYONES TASTE!

Macaroon Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly, except the topping. I am VERY PICKY about cheesecake since my mother makes them for restaurants and is exceptional! I was HOPING to find a recipe to surprise my mother with my skills, something unique. I LOVE the crust idea, the coconut and pecans ARE AWESOME! I WILL USE THIS CRUST AGAIN. The cheesecake itself was a bit more custard like than I care for. I like it more CREAMY than custard like. 3 eggs sounded like a bit much to me, but I always try the recipe as is before rating it and altering it. My HUSBAND SAID IT WAS GOOD, but JUST good. This is lacking the WOW FACTOR I am looking for. Perhaps not putting the topping on changed something? I didn't care for the looks of the topping and another user also said her topping came out looking like onion dip, those were my thoughts just by looking at the main recipe photo. Perhaps someone else will have more luck with this recipe than I did. Overall, GREAT CRUST, "OK" CHEESECAKE TASTE.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
I am giving this a HIGH FIVE because even though I started with the original recipe, and I ended up tweaking it a bit to suit OUR taste, it is an EXCELLENT "as is" recipe. I followed instructions to a tee until the celery. I haven't heard of too many stir fry recipes calling for celery that I liked in the past, so I REPLACED the celery for the same amount of green cabbage. The amount of water it called for, at that point I felt would have been too wet for us (perhaps using the cabbage instead of celery???) I used only 1/4 cup of water and bullion. I also added after tasting it, another full table spoon of soy sauce and a tsp of crushed garlic. this made my husband say, "WOWIE WOW WOW WOW!" (He is usually a ONE WOW guy and THAT is even a good thing!) Thank you for a great recipe that is good AS IS and can be tweaked and probably STILL just as GOOD. THANKS!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
I can see how so many people would like this, WE THOUGHT it was lacking something. I guess we could go through and read every couple thousand of reviews and see how people may have altered this recipe, but I'd rather just find a different one. My husband thought the SOUR CREAM didn't go well in this dish. I liked it ok, I just thought it was missing something that gave it the "WOW-FACTOR". Thank you for a good recipe though; AGAIN, I can understand why it is a good recipe for so many others.

Pollo Bella

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
I would rate this 5 STARS but my husband did not like it so I'm giving it 4 stars. I LOVED THE FLAVOR and I am a fan of creamy/saucy dishes, and I am a huge Gorgonzola fan! I DID LOVE THIS! I think this is a love it or hate it recipe. I SUGGEST READING the ingredients and if you LOVE GORGONZOLA. mushrooms, cream sauces, etc... you'll love it, if not, this isn't for you. Thank you for the great recipe!

Daddy's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Where is the mention of PASTA in this recipe? My husband and I did like this. We tried it with Pasta and without. With pasta;I thought it was average, MY HUSBAND LIKED IT A LOT! My husband likes sausage and peppers more than I do though. My husband suggested cutting the ITALIAN SEASONING BY HALF! He also used mild sausage but will try it with Spicy/HOT sausage next time. WE ALSO MADE THIS AND ATE IT ON ROLLS, WITHOUT PASTA, as a sandwich and it was pretty decent. My husband will make this again. It's a great starter recipe. ~Thanks

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
This is a very good "as is" recipe. Though we really liked it and would recommend it, it still isn't our all time favorite. The best yet is also on this site called "BBQ NY Strip". Check that one out also!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
I made this and FOLLOWED THE RECIPE EXACTLY, so I could taste it then decide what I would want to do with it, if anything. AS IS THIS WAS EASY AND VERY YUMMY! My husband AND teenagers LOVED it! Since making it, I too have added carrots, more chicken, etc.. BUT THIS IS A GREAT AS IS RECIPE!!! Thank you!
