Nice change from the good old fashion chocolate brownies. Turned out just right :)

Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
I had to substitute vanilla because I didn't have any with cognac. And I also had to substitute the raisins with more craisins. Other than that, the recipe is fantastic. I could see why white chocolate chips would work.

Deli Style Brisket

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
This was the first brisket I ever cooked (many years ago) & my husband LOVED it. It made great sandwiches for him the next day. Over the years I have made revisions. (I no longer cook it in the crock pot) But it is still a great recipe.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
WOW! I have never been able to get hash browns to come out right, but thanks to Emily I finally have. I also made some bacon in the pan and poured out most of the grease--be careful because the bacon grease is much more prone to spattering. I used less grease/oil than the recipe says. I had to reduce the heat to med. to keep them from browning too quickly, probably because of the bacon grease. This is a really great recipe!

These come out perfect every time, and I look forward to making them whenever the bananas get ripe.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
These were perfect. As promised, they were crispy with chewy middles. I was hesitant about putting the chopped walnuts as I was looking for a pure form of a chocolate chip cookie, but the walnuts definitely add gave the cookie more of a well rounded sweetness and an extra pop of flavor. I followed the recipe exactly, but used milk chocolate chips by Ghiradeli. If the cookies are too crispy without chewy centers, that means you are baking them for too long, and/or not putting enough cookie dough per cookie when baking.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
This recipe is exactly what I've been waiting for!! I used to have afternoon tea in Albuquerque where they served the BEST scones. I could never find them or the recipe anywhere else until I found this one. I hate tough heavy scones that could pass as bricks (Starbucks) These are light, airy, and delicate with a touch of sweetness. I left out the fruit, reduced the baking soda to 3 tsps, used evaporated milk instead of regular milk and brushed the egg wash on top before sprinkling sparkling sugar on top. I left a few without the sugar to see how sweet the dough was and they were perfect! I am catering and afternoon tea with my church and I can't wait to serve these to them! Thanks!

Banana Split Snack Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
This was really good, most everyone liked it, except my kids. Don't know why they didn't but I gave it 4 stars for that reason. I used a sringform pan and instead of chocolate chips I drizzled hot fudge over the top, it looked amazing.

Teriyaki Marinade I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
Even using a low sodium soy sauce, the marinade was very, very salty. I ran out of honey and had to use sugar and pineapple juice, still very salty. Don't think I'll try this recipe again, but if I do, will significantly reduce the soy sauce.

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
My family loved this recipe. I used fat free evaporated milk instead of reg. milk and next time I will use 2/3 c flour because the sauce was a bit runny. I also made it with a bottom crust. This was soooooo good. Thanks!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

My Family really liked this recipe. I served it over white rice with a veggie. I followed the recipe and it turned out great. Nobody seemed to mind the bacon not being to crispy.

Stovetop Granola

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
Tasted good. I was just missing the crunch you usually get from granola. I folowed the recipe exactly except for adding a little cinnamon and substituted pecans for almonds. For me it came out more chewy, more like candy than granola.

This Tasted great but mine didn't look as pretty as the picture. Everyone commented on how it looked funny but everyone loved it and some even asked for the recipe.
