Greek-Style Rib Eye Steaks

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
This was a great steak. I did make one change. I didn't have ripe olives on hand, but I did have Kalamata olive tapenade. I spread a thin layer over the steak after the lemon juice, and before the feta. It didn't have the aesthetics that ripe olives would, but it most likely added a better flavor to every bite. I have made this twice, the first was grilled on my gas bbq, rubbing the steaks with oil and spices. And the second was on the stove. I preferred the grilled one a little better.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
the only reason i rate this a 3 is b/c it was very easy to assemble as i didn't skin it first. otherwise i was not impressed at all. it was very bland, even with basting. i doubled the liquids, but only used a TB of olive oil, and cooked a 4.5lb. bird on high for 4hrs. it was very moist, just no taste. and the sauce wasn't that great either. this recipe can't seem to make up it's mind on whether it's chicken adobo or chicken teriyaki. i'm going to try and salvage the meat and use the leftover chicken to make wonton soup.

Cheesy Baked Cauliflower

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
LOVED this recipe. i didn't leave the head whole, but cut up. other than that, followed the recipe exactly. i was getting bored with plain ole cauliflower and this hit the spot. however, my son who loves cauliflower, didn't care for it and prefers it plain with cheese.

Sauteed Apples

These were alright. They reminded me of an apple pie from Micky D's without the crust, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I might mess with the recipe, and see what happens.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
These are some great pancakes, and so easy too, I will never go back to pancake mix. I always oil my pan with butter, and put some on top of the stack. I didn't even want to ruin them with maple syrup they were so good.

Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
these did not taste good enough for all the hassle it took to assemble them. my kids liked them, but it was just a mess. i put the dough in the freezer and threw the pepperoni, sauce, and some cheese in the processor like some other reviews. but the dough was just coming apart and breaking everywhere and they didn't roll up very tight. i had doubled the recipe and i ended up just putting some of the sauce mixture with cheese on the lg end and rolling. still wasn't that great although easier.

Blackberry Cobbler

This came out wonderfully and was much easier than I expected. Pretty and delicious. It was certainly sweet enough, I might even use less sugar next time. I'm definately going to try it in the future with some different fruit. I used the flour, baking powder, and salt instead of self rising flour.

Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
This was an outstanding burger, the flavors all melded together PERFECTLY...even my kids loved it ( 2, 4, and 7 all cleaned their plates! An excellent way to sneak in spinach! ;) The ONLY thing I did differently was add about 1/2 panko bread crumbs because it was too moist! Otherwise it was a good change for beef hamburger!

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
these were pretty good. i split in half all these ingredients: 1/2 oil/applesauce, 1/2 white sugar/brown, 1/2 white flour/whole wheat, and added 1 extra apple and some nutmeg b/c we like it spicy. i threw some baby carrots, the apples, and pecans in the processor and pulsed till desired consistency so the kids wouldn't balk at the carrot pieces in it. i didn't use coconut b/c the kids don't like it and i didn't have any raisins. i think i would like these much better with those 2 additions, so next time i will add for me!

Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Tried this recipe with pasta and meatballs. I think it could use more tomatoes and/or tomato sauce and much less oregano. The oregano dominated the flavor of the dish even though there were bold flavored meatballs in the dish. I won't likely make this sauce again, sorry.

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
tried this tonight with bbq chips and it was pretty good. my 2 boys loved it and my husband said it wasn't bad. i had problems with the chips sticking to the chicken. i think i may have put in a bit too much milk or i didn't crush up the chips enough. all in all, i will try again and with another flavor.

I used granulated style SPLENDA (not the little packets, the big box stuff) in place of the sugar and it worked fine. I also used the "ziplock baggie" tips as suggested by others.

Apple Squares

these are pretty good. i doubled the recipe, but not the topping and chopped up 2 whole granny smith apples and baked in a 9x13 as suggested by other reviewers. however, even with not doubling up the topping, i still thought it was too much. next time i will halve the topping so i don't feel like i'm eating a mouth full of sugar.
