Emily's Excellent Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This was really good! It gave me bad heartburn, but that's because it has so many yummy things in it. I used the vegetarian chili from Trader Joes because it is really tasty (and I'm so not vegetarian!) My husband ate it kind of like nachos and I put it on a salad with ranch, which was GREAT. Also, I used more chili to cover all the chips.

Country Seed Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
ooohhhh...this is so yummy. only changes i made were to use 1 cup bread flour & 1 cup WW Bread flour & i added a T of vital wheat gluten. toasted the seeds in the toaster oven, threw it all in the breadmaker last night and i woke up to the smell of fresh baked, yummy bread first thing this morning. will definately be making this again.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
My first thought after tasting them was "Whew, thank goodness". I had never made brownies from scratch before, since I dont typically like the way they taste as opposed to the box, and I was nervous. However, I was very, very impressed with these. The first time I used half brown sugar and half white as many other reviewers did, and melted my dark chocolate because I too dont like "stuff" in my brownies. They were great, but the picky boyfriend who prefers milk chocolate thought they were too rich (I thought they were great). The second time around I used all white sugar and Hershey's chocolate and he devoured the pan before I could get them all cut. Final vote: amazing any way you slice it, no matter what kind of chocolate or sugar. I have no reason to go back to the box ever again. So fast to make too! Thanks Brooke, you're awesome :)

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
These are the best cookies I've ever made. I made some giant, some regular, and some itty bitty, and all of them were fantastic. They aren't cakey or crispy, but not too dense either. The giant ones resembled the cookies from out local Pacific Cookie Company. These cookies are perfect. Now to make them into a chocolate cookie with mint chips....

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Ive used this recipe so many times now that I could probably make it in my sleep. I started making it my first year on my own in college when I was living off pasta and those huge bags of frozen chicken breasts from Costco. I needed new ways to use it up, and this was perfect. Everyone I've made it for gobbles it up. Quick, easy, and delish.

Greek Pasta Salad with Shrimp, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peppers, and Feta

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Incredible! I had never made a pasta salad before, but was asked to bring one to my sister's bridal shower. I left out the shrimp due to personal preferance, but left everything else as written. It was perfect, colorful, and flavorful. I was worried that I would end up with too much dressing because it seemed like a lot while I was making it but it turned out to be just the right amount. Guests raved, and there was an arguement over who got to take home the leftovers. Absolutely will make again, its my new "go to" pasta salad. Yummy!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
first time making pita bread and it turned out fab! we hate the ones from the store, but i didn't realize how easy it truly was to make, especially when you just throw everything in the breadmaker. my hubby (whose from Israel) said he loved it and called it "high quality" i followed the directions (except used olive oil and put in another 1/2 t. salt) and put them on my preheated baking stone at 500 for 4 mins. perfection!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I was a bit skeptical about this recipe because of a few of the ingredients. I gave it a shot because I know that people in San Diego know whats up when it comes to fish tacos. I was pretty stoked that I tried this recipe. The batter was a bit too thick for my liking, but that was probably my fault for not draining it off of the fish for a long enough amount of time. It had a great flavor all the way around. I used Heineken for the beer, which I normally don't drink. I used white corn tortillas instead of regular ones. I also switched out the Jalapeno for a half of a Habanero pepper. I also used fresh cod instead of frozen. Will definitely be making again!

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

this is wonderful as is. the only thing i don't do is the pineapple sauce over the top as i generally don't have the preserves on hand, but would definately love to try it that way. i generally just use the ketchup/mustard/brown sugar glaze and it still tastes awesome.

Amy's Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
LOVED this! this is my first time making turkey burgers and they turned out fabulous. only changes i made were to half the garlic powder and i used a few dashes of hot sauce instead of pepper flakes. i crushed up some whole wheat cheddar goldfish to use for the crackers. i made some whole wheat hamburger buns, topped with the burgers and bbq sauce. my 7 yr old (who is basically vegetarian and hates most meat) ate 1 1/2 for dinner AND asked to have one for his school lunch the next day! now THAT is saying something!
