Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These were delicious! I used smaller mushrooms (about 20 total) and I still had leftover filling. I did add some precooked bacon bits--yum! And since I didn't have any onion powder, I minced up a couple of green onions and sauteed them with the filling. So good!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Even finicky husband like this. Usually doesn't like to stray away from the typical pumpkin pie, but enjoyed this so much he had seconds. Was very good. Set well. There was more than enough to fill the 9-inch pie pan so made a small one on the side but other than that..great.

Wow! This is the next best thing to do with leftover turkey after the sandwich. Didn't change a thing on this recipe. Will most definitely do this again!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
ok, so I made this tonight for our turkey dinner and I had 12 guest. WOW, it was a hit!!! so, so, sooooo juicy! I had a 26 pound turkey (yes, I wanted major leftovers :) ), so I doubled the seasoning. But considering I woke up at 4am and still needed to find a recipe that I already had everything for, I just skimmed through it while reading, Anyways, I thought it said to combine all the seasonings together and sprinkle the turkey. So I doubled everything and totally forgot the warm water step! I just added the boullion with the rest of the spices. Also, I didn't even just sprinkle with the seasoning salt, I added that to the all the spices. Covered the whole thing in a TON of butter, plus under the skin, then placed onion wedges (a whole white onion) and about 10 cloves of garlic. SO VERY YUMMY!!! Super easy and even better tasting!! Thanks so much Robin C., you helped make my Thanksgiving PERFECT!

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Because of the high ratings I chose this recipe as a bake sale item at work. I wanted something new and interesting, yet promising. I wasn't quite sure how the texture would be when I saw the review that it would be "cake-like" I was a little nervous. After baking my first batch, I tried a cookie and my was it delicious. I will be making these again in the future.

We liked this a lot. I only used 1 lb of pasta and less cheese. The tomatoes were really good with this dish.

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
So good! My family loved it! When it was done in the slow cooker, I put it into a pan and cooked it the oven for about 25 min. to crisp it up a bit. I served it in tortillas with tomatoes, onions and avocados. It was fantastic.

This was great Mexican rice. I cooked the onions a little before adding the rice, but that was the only change I made. Everyone liked it!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Wow....just made these and they are fantastic! I used my food processor to crush the cookies and then added the cream cheese and blended it together. I bought the Baker's chocolate that is already in little cups to melt in the microwave which made that part easy. I rolled the balls with no problem and put them in the fridge for 15 min. before doing the chocolate. I put the balls on a fork and used a spoon to pour the chocolate over. Then i sprinkled the crushed topping on top. Put them in the fridge until ready to serve. I thought they were easy.

Pumpkin Wheat Honey Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Moist. I would use butter instead of oil to make them richer tasting. Cut the pumpkin pie spice II on this website down to 1 tsp: 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon ginger, and 1/16 teaspoon cloves. Used raising, no walnuts. Another recommendation is to top them with a brown sugar/oats crumble. Probably won't make again.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Made this as stated except I added a diced potato, used frozen mixed vegetables and used fresh sliced celery (2 stalks) instead of celery seed. I also mixed the cooked chicken/potato/vegetables with the sauce in a large bowl and then poured into the pie crust. The family loved it! Will be making this again.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I'm white with a low tolerance for spice, but I thought it could use more. I used precooked, seasoned chicken (previously made & frozen) and it was still wonderful. Used 4-5 deboned chicken thighs, and it was just right for the amount of chicken called for. Might have used a bit more. I also ground up the cashews with the ginger/garlic (accidentally) and had an almond/cashew mix. Boyfriend (who is Indian) really liked it.

Indian-Spiced Roasted Chickpeas

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
They're ok. I pre-roasted them for about 1/2 hour at 375 degrees. They came out crunchy. I then dipped them in lemon juice, coated with cooking spray, and then coated them with the spices. This de-crunchified them. I then cooked again for 25 minutes at 325. They became too crunchy, losing the flavor. Next time, I might omit the lemon juice and just use PAM and coat with spice.
