Ignore your bread machine instructions for this basic white bread made with lard and an optional bit of cinnamon. Instead, layer the ingredients in the prescribed manner and you are good to go.

It's taken me several years to perfect this recipe. Now everyone asks, 'When are you making the eggnog?!!' This uses cooked eggs for safety, and you can use more or less rum to taste. It's a bit of work to make, but well worth it. You'll never buy store-bought eggnog again! Enjoy!

A nice balsamic vinegar and oil mixture with oregano, parsley and Parmesan whipped in. It compliments this hearty salad, with its robust ingredients - salami, pepperoni, Asiago cheese and lots of tomatoes. Makes twelve magnificent servings.

Apple Pie IV

The trick to this pie is pre-cooking the apples with lots of sugar and cinnamon to sweeten and spice them up. The cooked apples are spooned into an unbaked pie shell, covered with a top crust and baked in the oven until golden brown.

A Greek favorite that makes everyone think you are a master chef and is sooo easy to make!! I taught a Greek friend how to make apple pie and she taught me this fabulous recipe. The phyllo dough for this recipe is found in the freezer section of most grocery stores. Add a little lemon zest to the sugar sauce, if desired.

Simple and quick beef enchiladas. Ground beef and onion are wrapped in flour tortillas, topped with Cheddar cheese and black olives, then baked. This is also great with leftover chicken, shredded beef or turkey. Serve with a green salad or beans and rice.

Best Peach Cobbler Ever

In the winter make this 9x13-inch cobbler with canned peaches, in the summer use fresh ones. But either way this cobbler is wonderful. The batter goes in the pan before the spiced peaches, and it 's all topped off with cinnamon and nutmeg. Then it 's baked for an hour.
