Simple, yummy. I only wish I could fold them up as cute as in the restaurant...but no matter, they still tasted great.

I'm usually very good at following recipes, but this came out very dry and tasted a bit off.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I adjusted the recipe to make it vegan. I used 1/2 cup Earth Balance margarine (vegetable oil works too), 1/2 cup applesauce to replace the butter and shortening. I used 2 tbs ground flaxseed with 6 tbs water to replace the eggs. I also upped the ground cinnamon to 2 tsp, and added 1 tsp ground nutmeg, and 2 tsp ground allspice. Baked it for 9 minutes. It was delicious. I'm sure the original recipe would be very good too but I didn't have eggs on hand when I made it.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
Delicious! I made it a few times as written, although I kneaded it by hand instead of using a bread machine. I also tried making it with whole wheat flour (replaced 3/4 c of the flour with whole wheat flour). Both came out delicious. My Persian friend who grew up with pita bread loved it too.

OMG! Thank You Thank You Thank You! I moved to Wisconsin 12 years ago and have missed Rubio's ever since. This is a darn close interpretation of the original. Now...if only I could figure out a way to find the ocean sand to wiggle my toes in while I eat them! YUM!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Maybe it's just me since I have an extremely picky palate, but I followed this recipe exactly using the lower of the time ranges, and my lemon bars came out burned and flavorless. My classmates all loved it though.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I read many reviews thoroughly before choosing this recipe. I rubbed the meat with a paste of fresh garlic before applying the salt as another member suggested. After researching on this site and a few others I started with a temperature of 425 and then lowered the oven to 250 for about 4 hours. I cooked it until the thermometer read 135 degrees and let it rest for 30 minutes. It was perfectly medium rare. I served this with au jus and horseradish. This was excellent, as good as any restaurant. I will definitely make this again.Update: I used the leftovers to make prime rib soup,a copycat of the one served at Harrigan's restaurant. My family loved it as well. I got two great meals out of this recipe. This will be a new holiday tradition.

Pita Chips

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Amazing! I had some.. old.. pita bread left over in the fridge. I'm in college and hate to waste food, and this put that old pita bread to good use. I really like pita chips from the store, but its always so oily to me. I loved these because they're so easy to make and I can go light with the oil.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I followed a review to add double milk, and that worked good for me. Although, I was making Christmas cookies so I had lots of food coloring, enough to make it runny so I think next time I will take into account how much the foodcoloring will also "thin" out my recipe. I didnt have a brush, I used a butterknife. I put it in a plastic bag so I could smoosh out all the lumps, and cutting a little hole in the corner makes it easy to draw. I used this with "The Best Rolled Sugar Recipes" and rolled those out with powdered sugar instead of flour. I will be using this again and again!

i make this everytime i go home and its gone in a few hours time! i altered it quite a bit to my taste. i skip the butter, and instead saute the vegetabes in olive oil. i use chopped garlic, onion, spinach, tomato, onion, mushrooms. at some point i will try artichokes too. maybe sometime ill make a broccoli version. then i just top that combination with cheese. i use pepper and garlic powder usually. turns out greattttt!!

Made this Chili, but omitted the Mushrooms, and Celery...This Chili is & was AWESOME. It has a sweet flavor, witha slight bite due to the cheyanne pepper. Highly recommend it to anybody who loves a good chili. I also used stew meat instead of ground beef. Very tender, and tasty.
