Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Okay, so these are the tricks you must follow to get an easy and guarateed "finger" look: I used green dye for witch fingers, added about 1/2 cup more of flour, refrigerate dough overnight, when rolling the fingers make sure to make them really really thin because they spread out when you're cooking them, use butterknife to make knuckle slits, use raisins for nails and pinch one side of the raisin and set into the tip of the dough, bake at 365 to cook quickly and not brown the cookies. This will make the best looking witchy fingers and they taste great and it's so much easier to use the raisins!! Everyone thought I bought them at the store!! Tee Hee...

Cilantro and Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
very bland. i thought the cilantro would make a big difference but it did not. if i tried this recipe again, i would bake the patatoes and let the seasons meld during the baking. otherwise, it just was not very good. i found myself pouring salt on them to liven up the flavors. it didn't work.

Funnel Cakes IV

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Excellent recipe! Tips for best results: you want cake like batter, use 1 tsp vanilla, add sugar to taste, use whole milk, oil must be really hot before you pour. Better than carnival cakes!

Simple Southwestern Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2008
A very tasty chicken salad. We rolled it in a flour tortilla with lettuce leaves and a dallop of sour cream. I only went with 4 stars because the flavors were not unique. It was very familiar to a soutwestern dip flavor. Tasty but not unique.

Simple Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
After a few adjustments, it's a 5 star recipe for my family! Once the pasta was ready, I mixed in the ingrediants as well as 2 tbls of sourcream and substituted processed cheese rather than the cheddar. Then I poured it all in a casserole dish and baked on 325 for 30 minutes. It was divine!

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Very easy and tasty alternative for left over Christmas ham! I only had spaghetti noodles and I added black olives and left out vinegar and pickle relish. My family of 4 just loved it and we gobbled it all up!

Cream Cheese, Garlic, and Chive Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I made some alterations as suggested by others and it turned out wonderful! My entire family loved it. Maybe this will help others: first flash pan fry the chicken breasts in olive oil to sear and brown with salt pepper sprinkled to taste. save the olive oil drippings and prepare the stuffing. To the stuffing, add the chives, 3 garlic cloves (if you love garlic flavors), and pieces of bacon, a little salt and fresh pepper. Wrap the stuffed chicken with sliced ham then place on lightly greased baking pan. Drizzle olive oil drippings over the prepared chicken and sprinkle with a little bacon pieces. Bake as directed. This should give you great results!

I added a dash of cinnamon like other suggestions and used margarine instead of shortening. Came out pretty darn good!!!

Thumbprint Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
Delicious! I was looking for an eggless recipe as my fridge was running low on groceries and this recipe fit the bill. Cured my sweet-tooth in a bad way!! I also used Splenda instead of sugar and it still turned out great!

Georgian Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2007
This dish is delicious and fools proof! My 9yr old daughter loved it and had seconds and she doesn't really like green beans and my husband was very pleased of the flavor combos as they are similar to common ingrediants in the home we use all the time. I loved it and thank you for this wonderful recipe. I followed one reviews advise and simply pan fried all the ingrediants together to keep the beans crisp. Yummy!!!

Gourmet Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This was too much like eating a mashed pumpkin w/a crumb topping. Too pumpkinny and not enough pie goodness. Don't try this if you're in the mood for "pumpkin pie."
