Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Perfect My 4 year old did everything... So easy and perfect tasting. As everyone said we used the fork to flatten and checked often to make sure to not over cook. Nice and soft and tons of flavor... Already passed this on to family :)

I was out of eggs, so I used diluted cornstarch. They are sooo good! For best results, refrigerate overnight. I had no problems with the dough when I did this. thanks!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Simplicity. That's what is so lovely about this soup. Just the taste of creamy potatos and ham, nice thickness. My five year old had 5 servings over the course of the day. To make it a bit more delicious for me, I added some sharp chedder on top. Great comfort food. (I didn't use the celery, had none on hand.)

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Wow! I LOVE this recipe!! First I think its the seasoning that makes it, I couldnt imagine it without. You should make extra and keep it handy for quick prep! Just gathered everything and threw it in the pot! All I had to do was cut the onions, next time I think I might add some rice. Very inexpensive too, I had most everything at home!!

Ono Butter Mochi

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
There is an old, Japanese lady at our church who will not give out her amazing mochi recipe. Well, no need, now that I've found this one! I omitted one egg and the baking powder because I like my mochi super chewy. I also baked at 250 for an hour and 15 minutes. I am in heaven and half the pan is gone. Will make more again soon!

Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Oh yeah, this rocks! I doubled, and placed in a 9x13 pan. As others suggested, I sifted the peppermint pieces and placed the tiny ones between chocolate layers, then mixed the remaining tiny pieces into the white chocolate. Save yourself some waiting time and freeze the layers of chocolate. Make sure you wipe the outside of the double pan before pouring, or you may end up with drips of water on/in your chocolate.

Mac's Shoe-Fly Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I made a few minor changes: I left out the powdered milk and additional oats, replaced the water with warm milk (to give the bread a richer flavor, and keep the bread moist), and used 1.5 cups each of wheat and white flours. I also let the butter sit in the warm milk a bit to soften it up. This bread came out VERY moist, and a beautiful deep caramel color, but the flavor wasn't as unique as I expected it to be. Still yummy though!

Oh, Yumm! Made dark brown sugar by adding some molasses to light brown sugar. Quick cooled the pan by rubbing ice cubes over it, then took it to the neighbors for a taste test. Now I have to make her some for the W/E. This is a great recipe & so easy! Thanks for sharing, Marjory.

Beth's Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
WOW! Thanks for another excellent recipe Beth! For years I have been trying to find an orange cookie recipe that was like my ex's grandmothers' and this one is WAY better! I love icing, so I followed the suggestions of some of the prior reviewers and doubled the icing. MISTAKE! There was more than enough icing just as was written. I should know better than to try and "improve" one of Mrs. Sigg's recipes!

Lemony Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I am glad I tried this, it is a keeper. I used extra virgin olive oil, but next time I will try a lighter olive oil. I love the lemon, it really makes this special. I also squeezed extra lemon juice over my salad.

Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
These were horribly messy to put together and it's nearly impossible to pack down the layers. I could only get a half cup of chocolate chips into the jar (not the full cup the recipe calls for). Once these are all cleaned up they look nice - but there's about half a cup too much filling listed to fit in the jar!

Sonoma Hot and Sour Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
My family and I really loved this soup. I could not believe how healthy it was because it had such great flavor. I doubled the recipe and used napa cabbage instead of regular cabbage. I think this is key because the texture of the cabbage is much better than the hardier regular cabbage. I substituted cristini mushrooms for the shiitake as I wasn't able to locate them. I think any type of mushroom would work well in this. Also, I didn't have reduced sodium broth or soy sauce so just used the regular version. The end result was amazing and we will definitely be making this again - my husband raved about it and he is a picky person!
