Chicken Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
I found this recipe to be overly salty. Suggest substituting low sodium chicken stock for the bouillon. 1 cube = about 1/3 daily sodium, therefore 6 is quite alot. 1 teaspoon of salt is not needed. Suggest salt to taste. Other than that, it was fine.

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Very good. I added some finely chopped sweet red bell peppers for a little kick. On its own, very good. You really can't go wrong with ginger-soy combination. Variations could include molasses for honey, or even dark corn syrup. Some worcestershire sauce for beef. even liquid smoke.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

YUUUUUUMMMMY!!!! I used a 4.5 lb. pork butt roast, cooked in the crock pot for 5 hours on high, and it was perfect! I used Big Al's K.C. BBQ sauce from this site (which is my new favorite sauce) and it was fabulous!

AWESOME!!! My hubby & I made 2 batches - the first we simmered about 25 miniutes, the second about an hour. Both were absolutely delicious, but the second batch was much thicker, which we prefer. Fabulous on baby backs!!!

Very tasty!! Didn't use the bellpeppers, and added chopped white onions to the top. I doubled the recipe, but still used one package of taco seasoning. Would definitely make this again!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Very yummy and messy!! I wish I would have used more brown sugar... dipped both smokie and bacon in sugar... I also used toothpicks but ended up taking them out so the skewers would have been better. I baked them but ended up broiling and flipping to get each side crispy.

Made this for my boyfriend's poker party... was the first appetizer eaten!! I also put breadcrumbs on the top and broiled after baking. They ate it with tortilla chips - don't think they cared what they were dipping in it!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
These pancakes were so easy to make. They are idiot-proof. Simple, fluffy and delicious! I can't understand the people who rated this poorly. Perhaos it was an error on their part, because I followed the recipe exactly, and mine came out perfect! I will definitely continue to use this recipe. **Also, how can people alter the recipe without making the original and then proceed to give it a negative review is beyond me!

Yummy! I made Bakerella's Easter cake pops out of mine. They were so adorable, but it took my friend and I about 6 hours start to finish! We made two batches - Strawberry with cream cheese frosting, and chocolate with chocolate frosting. Everyone loved them! They were almost too cute to eat!

fantastic! Very moist and flavorful. I used 1/2 cup applesauce and 3/4 oil and substituted pumpkin pie mix for the canned pumpkin. It was perfect, baked in a bundt pan for 45 min and topped with warm cream cheese frosting. I will definitely make again. Even my picky boys loved it!

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

These were fantastic! this is my first try on homemade doughnuts and they were a hit. I used cake flour and had to add a little extra to get it right, but worth it. I also made a second batch of chocolate glaze by adding some cocoa powder. It made twice the batch and holes!

Cream Filled Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
I made a version of these cupcakes the other day, and they were AMAZING!! My kids loved them! I only used the filling from this recipe (YUM)and Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate cake. It worked beautifully - it's moist & fudgy.... Then I slathered Satiny Chocolate Glaze (recipe from this site) all over the tops and decorated with squiggles made from the leftover filling. DEEEE-LISH!!!!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Look no further....this is the fun, different, easy and yummy dessert you are looking for! The cake balls are a hit with every atmosphere and age level! My only recommendation....only use 1/4 to 1/2 of rom temp frosting. Otherwise you cake will turn to mush and then you will have mush balls. Ya, they do take some time...but they are fun and easy to do.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Sooo yummy and easy to make. I halved the recipe and it made 36 cookies. Taste is heavenly, and they're just the right balance of crisp and soft. Used the Decorator Frosting recipe from this site which was wonderful as well - Simple buttercream recipe of butter, sugar, vanilla and a splash of milk. Awesome!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
Yummy! Everyone loved this soup. My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy so he was a little bummed that I was making this rather than a stew. That all changed with the first bite! I used fat free half and half and added some cheddar and jack blend with the processed cheese. I also used fresh garlic rather than the powder. Thank you! Planning on making this for our family on Christmas Eve!!!
