T Bird's Beef Jerky

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
This jerky was great! The family likes it a lot. My oven worked great with this recipe and I hung about 10 bamboo skewars each holding about 6 strips of beef. Made the house smell wonderful and the dogs love it too. Easy and tasty without all crud that store bought has in it.

Elaine's Sweet and Tangy Loose Beef BBQ

Fabulous! I put my own twist on this as well! I've never done a chuck in my crock pot so this was a great idea! I served it on some homemade wheat buns I made. Oh so good and oh so meaty!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Terrific! I had my doubts and was dying to try this. I wrapped it up tight with plastic wrap over night. I followed the recipe exactly and this was the best roast chicken I've ever made and I've made a lot. It also made some great juices for the most flavorful gravy! The breast was super moist also. I'll be roasting my chickens this way from now on. Great recipe!

Good? These treats should be called GREAT dog cookies! I added some ground flax seed for added nutrition. I think I actually heard my shih tzu say please?! Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. My picky Percy is pleased! Fit for husband consumption!

Yellow Squash Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
Very good! I used 3 little squash and kinda just altered the rest of the ingredients. A very kid friendly way to serve squash. I've been making a lot of squash this summer and the kids are pretty scared of it...but not anymore.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
These were fun to make! I've always wanted to make bagels. This recipe was easy enough. I doubled the recipe. I did it by hand without my bread machine since it was making this funky weird noise. No biggy to do by hand. My dough wasn't hard to work either. I used 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 white and added vital gluten instead of using bread flour. It rose for about an hour before I shaped into bagels. I didn't flatten like the recipe said since they pretty much keep the same shape all throughout the process. I topped with blue poppy seeds. They sure are good.

Well Carol, your g'ma sure knew her buckles! This was the best I've had. LOVED the topping! I changed the flour to 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 white. Other than that....I went with the recipe.

Indiana-Style Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I'm impressed! Perfect! My hubby suggested that I cut the dogs in half and stick the skewar in so that they would be easier to handle in my fry daddy (I still have the old one!) and it worked like a charm! Lovely batter that stuck to the dogs with no problem. I just dried them off good before battering them up. I will make them again for sure. A++

Ginger Snaps II

I added more spices like other reviewers. I like my gingersnaps to have a kick so the extra ginger is essential (3 tsp). I had to use dark molasses cuz thats all I had and I wasn't about to go to the store for the light kind! They are beautiful!

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
This was the best! Loved the lemon with the blueberry! I made this as written with the exception of changing the flour to whole wheat. I also halved the sugar (both bread and glaze) and I couldn't imagine it any better.

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2007
These were great....i've never heard of evaporated milk in meatballs but you learn something everyday eh?! The milk made the meatballs moist and rich. I made my own sauce for this instead of using this sauce recipe. I added my homemade chili powder(you must try making your own....what a difference!) The kids loved them and the dogs were begging extra hard.

Dang good bars! I also loved the "soak the raisins first" idea mentioned by previous reviewers. I've never heard of that one before and I'll be doing that from now on in all my recipes calling for raisins.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
This recipe didn't work for me. I did everything as instructed. Didn't change a thing. The first batch came out flat and totally stuck down to the cookie sheet..even though I greased. I can't say flat enough. Flat flat flat. I spread what was left of the dough into a square baking dish hoping to salvage the rest into squares. So far they look somewhat edible. I'll be scraping and soaking my cookie sheet for all eternity. :o(
