Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
This was alright mac and cheese, but for all the money we spent on cheese we expected something a whole lot cheesier. If we decide to make this again, which we are on the fence about, we would use cheeses with a bolder, stronger flavor to them and perhaps add some mustard powder and some hot sauce before poring it into the pan to make it a little less bland.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
I thought this dip was just okay - but a lot of people loved it at the party I went to so I averaged it out and gave it four stars. I'll probably make this again for sure without the ranch dressing and with blue cheese dressing. Blue cheese would have made this a five star recipe.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This was gobbled up fast at my party last night and it was very easy to make. I could not find any frozen bread dough at any grocery stores so I ended up getting pre-made pizza crust from Trader Joe's (Not sure if they have that outside of California) and it turned out wonderfully! I'll be making this again for sure.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
Loved it! I used this for my boyfriend's pot pie and he love the crust much more than he loved the pot pie. I'm now looking for a great pot pie recipe to go with this wonderful crust!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Loved this recipe! It was flavorful, very tender and moist. I did make a couple of changes. I used a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of cream of mushroom with roasted garlic and used 1 cup of wine instead of the water. I also rubbed the roast with garlic powder and some freshly ground pepper. The gravy was very tasty. I did add some cornstarch (made into a paste) to thicken the gravy. I cooked the roast for about 10 hours on low. My family really enjoyed this recipe. I will be making this again!

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
I read the reviews and decided to be a little creative. I mixed the ziti with sour cream, ricotta, 1 egg, and 1 jar of the spaghetti sauce. I used Italian sausage and browned it with onion and garlic. I drained the fat off and added the remaining jar of spaghetti sauce. I sprayed a deep baking pan with olive oil spray and then added a layer of ziti, sausage mixture, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced provolone topped off with sliced pepperoni. I repeated the layers, except for the pepperoni, and topped it off with the parmesan and the fresh basil. I also made an extra pan of this for a friend. Everyone raved about how good it was! I was surprised when my pasta hating son had two helpings! I am giving this 5 stars because it is an excellent base recipe. Thank you!

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
Made this for a quick ad hoc dinner party. Looked easy and quick and it was! Everyone liked it and there was not a single bit of it left. Only one minor compaint is that it was on the border of being too salty. So next time I am going to try to used the reduced sodium cream of chicken soup, or make my own dressing. Not really sure what the culprit was. Chicken was moist and flavorful.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
Good taste, at just below 1/2 cup lemon juice ( 2 lemons). Added the 1/4 tsp of salt another reviewer suggested. Made them into little cupcake tins, but unfortunately they stick to the paper. Otherwise, the crust and filling are very flavorful. Next time I will double the amount of filling though, and try the bars.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

My boyfriend said this was just "okay." The sauce wasn't anything special and the filling could have had more veggies.

Chicken Puffs

This is just okay. I don't think I'll be making this again per the instructions - I'd probably double the chicken and half the cream cheese.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
I've made this a few times now. I followed other reviewer's advice and I doubled the cheese and broccoli. This is my boyfriend's favorite soup now! When I first made this soup I couldn't find a block of "process cheese food" so I ended up buying some sliced american cheese and pealing all those slices for the soup. Get the block of cheese, it was a lot of work to unwrap all those!

Dog Food Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
This was great! I plan on making this as a dip at my pot-luck junk-food birthday party later this month. I made myself a test batch of it with things I had on hand after seeing this recipe, and the only thing I was missing was the green chili's. Next time I think I will make sure to add those - everything benefits from a little spice!
