Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
This was REALLY good.....The sauce is SO good...I sauteed some asparagus, onion and bellpepper, then added to the cooked chicken, then added the sauce mixture.....so tasty.....I also halved the hot sauce, and cooked the chicken in Pam Spray. After everything was together, I noticed it not thickening up as much as I'd like, so I did a little cornstarch/water mixture and tossed it in to give it that restaurant type glaze look and texture.......

Doggie Biscuits I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
Made these for my dogs and they really liked them....when making this recipe, IT DOES NOT NEED ANYWHERE NEAR 1 1/2 CUPS WATER....I used just 1/4 cup and it was plenty to make it pliable. Make quarter size rounds for them........

Sorry but this was nothing special. Also, for any wrap you need to quickly grill the tortilla/wrap in a pan both sides.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Fantastic. I followed other reviewers suggestions and placed in a smaller baking dish. I also doubled the sauce (not the spices though). I covered the chicken for 1/2 hour, then turned over, and continued cooking uncovered. Total cook time was nearly an hour with the additional sauce.

These were really good, and healthy too. The entire family gave me a thumbs up on these. You could get really creative and use different types of vegetables too.

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Wow! I've been making angel biscuits for years and I've finally found a recipe that beats my recipe. This recipe is so much easier and the results are unbelievable......I doubled the recipe and made 2 sets of biscuits for my brood. The only change to the recipe was to add 3/4 tsp. salt and a bit more buttermilk. Excellent.....

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

This is so much better than a chili dog; so much lighter......we loved this recipe.....will be a family favorite from now on. I encourage all to try this recipe, but make sure to use your immulsifier to blend it all up and make it nice and fine...wouldn't be the same if it was left chunky. Delicioso!!!!!

Bella's Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Never did I think I would rate a brussels sprouts recipe as 5 stars. I thought about tossing the sprouts when I got my weekly delivery of organic veggies and saw those in there. but not wanting to be wasteful I figured I would try to find a good recipe to use them in. This was a perfect recipe! I added some cooked quartered red potatoes with the sprouts during the last 10 minutes of cooking and it was so good. Be sure to use good quality balsamic. I used an 18 year aged BV that was slightly flavored with cassis which worked well.

Indian Style Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This is one of the better Basmati Rice Recipes I've made. The only adjustment I made was to add 3 cups of water instead of the 2 1/2. Next time, I'm going to use chicken broth just to see if it adds a different flavor.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
If I could give 10 stars I would......This recipe was awesome. I thought the sauce was better than most restaurants serve. The batter for the chicken was oh so good, crispy, flavorful. I used the full quart of oil to cook. The chicken pieces cooked up so quickly and had great flavor all on their own, but when you top it with the sauce......OH WOW.....I doubled the recipe to 2 lbs. of chicken to feed all 7 of us, but honestly will have to triple it next time because we were all fighting for seconds. I served some red bellpepper, red onion, and asparagus sauted in a small bit of sesame oil and dash of salt, and yummy Trader Joe's brown rice...... Yes, the recipe does take some effort, but your family is worth the time to make this awesome recipe. Thanks again for sharing this recipe.....

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Just like a pizza but without the crust! I didn't layer the ingredients and it turned out fine. This is a recipe that you can "customize" to fit your own palette. I added some red onion and used cute bowtie pasta instead of the rigatoni. I pre-cooked the pasta for half of the suggested time before adding it to the pot to eliminate soggy noodles.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This was my first slow cooker attempt - and now I'm happy I bought the cooker! This recipe was easy to make, delicious to eat, and was loved by my entire family. I added baby carrots, 1/2 cup of red wine, and onion soup mix rather than the Italian mix 'cause that's what I had. I used 4 whole breasts rather than cubbing it first. In the final 30 minutes, I added 1/2 cup of sour cream along with the stated ingredients. Yum!

Spicy Beef Curry Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
OK. It was good, somewhat spicy, and did make the house smell rather nive while it cooked. It didn't seem to fill up the crock pot, I'm contemplating making it again with a load of potatoes or other starch added to cook with the meat and sauce. Or perhaps a load of vegatables to make a stew...

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I thought this was good. I've seen this recipe on the back of a Ziti pasta box at the store. For some viewers comments about using Ricotta, we all add and take things away from a recipe to suit our liking. I personally make this dish and lasagna with fat free Cottage Cheese because Fat free tends to be dryer then 1/2 or full fat. If you taste plain cottage cheese vs. sour cream, they are very similiar in taste. This recipe is really good and personally don't like using ricotta because I think it's dry unless of course you are getting the freshly made Ricotta from a special food store. Thanks for sharing.
