Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This is a really easy recipe. It is cooking right now, and smells wonderful. I am giving it to my mother, but I am definitely going to make another one for my family at home tomorrow. If I don't they will probably kill me.

Pigs in a Blanket

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Want to hear a funny story about these? I bought the small crescent rolls, and little smokies and sliced sharp cheddar cheese. I have never bought crescent rolls, so I couldn't figure out how to open the pkg at first. I though I was going to have to call the 800 number. Finally, I figured out that you have to unwrap the paper and then the thing pops. I felt like an idiot. But then, I wrapped 2 little smokies and a half of cheddar cheese slice up in the crescent rolls and baked for about 11 minutes. Yummmmmm.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

I normally like my seeds salty but these were the best! I didn't have pumpkin pie spice so I just used a little cinnamon, about 1/4 tsp. I will be making these from now on. Thx!

Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
My family absolutely loved this soup, and so did I! Mostly, I did everything the same, though I did pre-steam my squash in the microwave first. Also, I added about 1 cup of heavy cream before pureeing, since I really love a creamy soup. Finally, I garnished the tops of each bowl with some cooked, crumbled bacon. Perfect!

Ham Cheddar Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
This is an awesome recipe. I added about a tsp of garlic powder and about a half tsp of garlic salt. After I added the ham and potatoes it cooked up really really thick, so I just added about cup or so more of milk so it was not too thick. It came out great. Yummmmmmm. Thanks. I am going to give some to my 2 year old grandson when he wakes up. Then we shall see.........LOL

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

This is a very good recipe. I think maybe it needs a little more kick like maybe brown sugar, or lemon juice, or honey or something else sweet. I will make this again, though. I have some left in the fridge and I will see what my daughter says about it.

Rice With Olives And Green Chile Peppers

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Excellant with some cumin and a little chili pwd with the rotel and I use black and green olives. adds a little zap to it. I agree with add sour cream to rice prior to baking and use a little more to keep moist and top with colby longhorn cheese. almost spanish rice with tomatoe juice. I brown the rice as well before cooking. much more flavor and a little nut flavor adds to it.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly except for the parsley, (my daughter said she would just take it off)LOL. I used the real bacon bits (you have to refrigerate these after opening.)I was going to take a pic but we ate it too fast. A neighbor was over and he said it was great. I have to make some more tonight because my daughter didn't get any. Oops. I made asparagas with it. Rice would also be good. I cooked it longer, I think it was about 50 minutes. Me and my well done taste buds. The green onion and bacon together with the cheese made the kitchen smell awesome when I was cooking this, I couldn't wait for it to be done. I will try to get a pic tonight to add, but I can't promise anything. I made this recipe again and I didn't have the bacon or the scallions, so I added parmeson cheese, garlic salt and seasoned salt. My daughter really liked this too.
