Almond Glazed Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Fantaskulicious! These are delicious, which I think is fantastic. I have made this recipe twice now. The were served at Thanksgiving in place of the creamed onions and everyone agreed that this should be the new onion dish we have. I have also giving the recipe out twice now! Easy, fast and yummy, what else could I ask for? Thanks so much Decaf!

Cocoa Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Really delicious cookies. I tripled the batch and froze 2/3's of it. Also I added walnuts and used Dark Cocoa. The cookies came out better when I made them bigger. Just soft enough. This is a keeper recipe. YUM!

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
These are good! Yes they have a wet dough but that keeps it moist, which is nice because most scones are dry. I used 2% milk and 1/3 cup more blueberries (just cause I had more) shaped it (round) but didnt score it or cut it until it was fully cooked thru. I like that they are not very sweet so you can add your jam or honey without being overly sweetened. I will make these again. YUM!

Chocolate Yum Yum Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I only made the frosting, (not the cake) I needed something quick and found I was without alot of ingredents) and its really good. I was afraid it might not be enough so I added 1/4 cup more choc chips, 1 extra tablespoon coffee and 1/4 extra butter. This is a really tastey frosting. Super easy and I am sure I will make it again.

Baba Ghanoush

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
I didnt make this recipe, but we make this all the time and its very similar to how we make it. We started studding our eggplant with the garlic cloves (cut slits in the flesh and push the cloves in) and it makes the dish less bitter with the garlic cooked. Also we like the eggplant done on the bbq. This is a delicious dish, you should try it. You will be hooked.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
This is really yummy from the start, but even better when it sits overnight or for several hours. I used good seasons italian dresssing(the one tht comes in a packet and you mix your self in the bottle) and ONE cup of dressing is the whole thing. Yes I will make this over and over. Very versatile recipe. You could use a number of things on hand if you were missing something.

Cheddar Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
This is a great salad. Yes its sweet, might be the sugar but either way its good. I had a huge bag of broccoli to use up and in my opinion this salad could have used more broccoli. I will make this again! I did not use bacon and I added rasins. It did sit over night before eating. I also can see that this salad could be versitle for lots of different additions. This is a good salad.

mmmmmm! Have made this twice, both times with rave reviews. I used a packaged sugar cookie mix baked in a springform pan (makes for a thick decadent crust). this last time I added a teaspoon of almond extract with the vanilla. Wow! added a whole new level of flavor.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
This came out so yummy, family loved it. Made it with mashed potatoes and gravy, on the side. Although it did come out rather greasy. Made it with BBQ flavored potato chips instead of regular and you can really tell a difference. Next time I'm going to go a little easy on the onions though. Hubby was picking them out. lol.

What a wonderful moist cornbread. I substitued the buttermilk for lowfat milk. Not quite sure what change it made, but the buttermilk I had on hand was expired so this was a last minute switch. Next time I will make it with the buttermilk. This is a great bread!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
EXCELLANT! I chose this because it had good ratings and seemed easy with few ingredients. The dish came out wonderful. I did make changes, I used low fat milk and we didnt need another dish with so much cheese so I put 1/2 cup of feta cheese, also I added sautee onions and mushrooms to the middle and the top. Next time I will try it with the Cheddar, I was happy I didnt need to add the richness of regular milk. I will make this again.
