Marinated Pretzels

Addictive, indeed! Even my neighbors young children loved these. Extremely easy to make, so I will be making them regularly. Thank you for sharing.

Texas Christmas Pickles

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
I had a blast making these pickles! They are so close to tasting like Tony Packo's Sweet Hots. I made two gallons, one jar cut into spears and the other cut into thick slices. I like the slices better and they were to my liking after only five days. I am going to experiment with about half the sugar and a little less garlic, next time. The Tabasco is perfect, though. I processed some of the finished pint jars in a boiling water bath for ten minutes so I can keep them longer. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
A very easy recipe. Kinda like a quick lasagne. However, I found it to be too bland. I will make it again but will add more herbs and spices. I will also top it off with the mozzarella instead of the parmesan.

Feta Cheese Foldovers

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I did not care for these, at all. They are too large to be served as appetizers and, because they are so large, the feta is overpowering. A lot of labor was involved making them, too. I will not make these again. Sorry!

OH...MY...GOODNESS!!! This cake is incredibly moist and delicious! I served it instead of pumpkin pie for Turkey Day and the family loved it. Thanks!

Best Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Very good! I used the pre-shredded cabbage and carrot mix that you can buy in the produce section of the supermarket. I will make these in the future, but will play with the ingredients. Bean sprouts and shrimp, maybe? Thanks!

All Day Apple Butter

Love this recipe! I followed the advice of some of the other reviewers and increased the amount of spices. Extremely easy to make and the house smelled wonderful! I'm giving jars of apple butter as gifts for the holidays, this year.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2005
I did not like this recipe, at all. The sauce was watery and oily and had a sour flavor (probably a result of adding the salad dressing), and the meat ended up VERY dry. I've had better results just slow cooking in plain BBQ sauce, or poaching the chicken and then topping with warm BBQ sauce. I would not recommend this recipe. Sorry!

Burrito Pie

Loved this! Be sure to cook everything up in a Dutch oven...it makes enough to feed a small army! I like Mexican dishes extra spicy, so I used a can of tomatoes with jalepano peppers and HOT picante sauce.

I always substitute plain yogurt for the sour cream, though. Always a big hit when served in a bread bowl.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2005
These enchiladas are fabulous! It took me a lot longer than 30 minutes to prepare, though. I heat the enchilada sauce in a saucepan and dip the tortillas in it, one-by-one, to soften them up before filling and rolling (rather than frying them). I will make these again and again!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
This is a delicious recipe! I've used the marinade for veggies on the grill, as well as a variety of poultry and seafood. If you use bamboo skewers, be sure to soak them in water for about an hour before grilling so they don't go up in flames.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Great chicken dish! My only complaint is that it makes enough dry ingredients for at least eight breasts, so I wasted a lot of expensive ingredients. I will half the recipe in the future, or cook a double batch and freeze some.
