Piggy Wiggys

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
A variation I use as appetizers: cut each crescent roll into two triangles, otherwise they are too big for the sausage; brush the top of each triangle with your favorite BBQ sauce; place one sausage on the long side of each triangle and roll up; bake. Addictive!

Mexican Hot Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I make a very similar dip using a glass pie plate. I spread just 1 pkg cream cheese to form a "crust," then pour in one can of chili WITHOUT beans and spread over cream cheese. Top with the chopped black olives and a small can of chopped Ortega green chilis, shredded cheddar cheese, and bake until bubbly. So easy and always a hit!

Sunflower Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
I've had this recipe for YEARS and I found it on the side of a package of toasted sunflower seeds. They called it a Sun Ball. I've been making it for every holiday, ever since. LOVE IT!

Apple Walnut Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
Didn't change a thing and LOVED this cake. Took it to work and got nothing but praise. Very moist and, though I considered using a topping, it didn't need a glaze or frosting...perfect just the way it's written. This is now an Autumn favorite! Thanks!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Finally! REAL scalloped potatoes! YEA!!! Excellent, old-fashioned recipe like the women in my family made generations ago. I had lost my recipe and could not for the life of me remember the key ingredient: flour! DUH! Thank you for posting.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2006
I have been using a recipe very similar to this for years on chicken wings. They go over GREAT at parties, etc. I do not baste the chicken pieces, though. I pour all the sauce over them and occasionally turn the pieces while they are baking. One hour does the trick but, prepared this way, you can bake longer and the sauce really sticks and caramelizes. Yum!

Easy Hawaiian Chicken Packets

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
I love cooking in foil packets because it's fast and easy. This recipe is no exception! I grilled the packets and the chicken was super moist. The combination of the veggies, sauce, and pineapple is very tasty. I served the contents over rice (be sure to pour the juice from the packet over everything...yum!) This freezes exceptionally well, too.

Brine for Smoked Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
Very unique recipe! Takes a bit of time to prepare the brine but it was worth it. I'm glad I halved the recipe...it makes A LOT! I smoked two salmon filets and one halibut filet. Both came out juicy and flaky. Yum!

Smoked Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
Very easy and delicious recipe. I smoked a large roaster for about 4.5 to 5 hours and the chicken was very juicy. I could not taste the herbs throughout the chicken, though; only on the breast area where the herbs were stuffed under the skin. Next time I will try inserting the butter and herbs throughout the entire bird so there will be more of those yummy, herbal bites. Thanks!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
Sorry...the red onions ruined this recipe for me. I think red onions should be reserved for fresh recipes, not cooked. I didn't enjoy the taste. However, I tried this recipe again, last night, using yellow onions and I added fresh mushrooms. Huge improvement and much more to my liking.

Grilled Asparagus with Orange Wasabi Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
Fabulous, easy, mouth-watering recipe! The sesame oil drove me nuts because it smells so good! I just purchased an awesome Sanyo HPS-SG3 Indoor Grill and I've been grilling all week. This is the best asparagus recipe I've EVER eaten--grilled or otherwise--and I'll be serving this regularly. YUMMY!!!

Hot Italian Giardiniera

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
Excellent, versatile recipe! I made this only 24 hours ago and I've been snacking on it, already. I love giardiniera, but when I purchase the hot version in the supermarket, it doesn't always have enough of the veggies that I like. This recipe solves THAT problem! I like to eat giardiniera as a snack or serve as an appetizer, so I cut the veggies into bite-size chunks. Otherwise, I followed the recipe as written. Next time I will add fresh, whole mushrooms. And, since this made a gallon size jar of veggies, I'm going to process some of this batch in jars in a hot water bath to preserve some for future snacking. Thank you, so much, for sharing!

Carmel Pretzel Nut Popcorn

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
YUM! The only thing I'll do differently, next time, is use a BIG pot instead of a paper bag. The mix stuck to the paper and it was difficult to get the nuts and pretzels evenly distributed throughout the popcorn. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
