I began really cooking when I got married in 2000. My cooking then was soley based on taste, not worrying about healthy. After my divorce in 2005, I decided it was time for me to lose weight. My cooking at that point changed to being all low fat, low calorie, but I just couldn't give up that good taste.

Tri-Tip Rub

Nice basic rub. I added paprika and onion powder. After sprinkling the meat with this rub, I drizzled with olive oil. It helped keep the rub on the meat during cooking. It rendered a flavorful, juicy tri tip.

Banana Banana Bread

One of the better banana bread recipes. Moist. Very critical for flavor to use overripe bananas! I added chopped macadamia nuts for a Hawaiian-style bread. The flavor deepens if you wrap and let it mellow for a day. Slice, toast and butter for a real treat.
