About me:
Simple and scrumptous is my cooking style. I love to cook just about anything, give me a recipe and I'll try it. I don't think food has to be complicated to make to be good and like to stay as close to natural as possible.

Thirty Minute Yellow Cake

Reviewed on Jul. 8, 2009 by VegasFem
Hopefully, the photo I took of the cupcakes I made from this gets accepted so that you can all see the lovely results. The only changes I made to the recipe were a stick of unsalted butter (instead of shortening), 1/4 tsp salt, evaporated milk (instead of reg. milk) and 1 tsp of baking soda (as I used all-purpose flour instead of self-rising). I baked these for just 20 min; they are glistening and moist and have a gorgeous color. Not sure what everyone else has been doing wrong, but perhaps they should stay away from baking.

Tomato Soup III

Reviewed on Jul. 4, 2009 by SnowWhite
Very good. Even non-soup eating hubby liked it. The only changes I made was that I added some basil and used canned tomatoes that I pureed (didn't have any tomato juice). Had it with grilled turkey and cheddar sandwhiches.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed on Jul. 1, 2009 by SnowWhite
Very good! I made a few minor changes based on what I had in the kitchen. I reduced the butter, used sun dried tomatoes instead of peppers since that's what I had, didn't add milk or cream (didn't notice anything missing) and added capers. We really enjoyed!
