I have been tring to find a good macaroni salad for years. This was simple and really good. The kids and the hubby all ate it up. I did not alter the recipe.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Great stuff. I made a big batch and then added different spices to smaller batches to see what would work to give it some extra hotness. We actually liked them all. The entire pot (1 gallon?) was gone in 2 weeks! I will be making this again and again. Note: I did let it simmer for ~2hrs when I was making it.

Easy Sacher Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is an excellent recipe. An authentic sacher torte is apricot, but I have found that orange marmalade is a super substitute. The chocolate cake I made was altered a bit...instead of using water in the mix, use half and half or buttermilk. This makes the cake more moist and flavorful. Add a little Grand marnier for a special treat.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
This recipe was pretty good. I think 1 tablespoon of cinnomon is too much, so i did half a teaspoon of nutmeg and a teaspoon and a half of cinnomon. I like how these puffed up when i let them rise, but they got really soggy sitting in the carmel and then got really brown but werent completely done. they were good, but they need a thinker carmel- one with corn syrup or honey added, and decreased temperature, then it would be perfect.

Honey Nut Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
These were perfect! i've been searching and searching for a good sticky bun recipe and this is it. it really needs to rise for about 2 hours after it was rolled out and cut, i also added golden raisins to the inside, and also let it rise for about an hour after i made the douch. it came out delisous, not soggy or tough. thanks for the recipe!

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
this bread was delicous. the only thing i changed was i used a cup of oil, and then added a 1/4 cut of apple sauce, i also left out the glaze because i cant handle anything too sweet. But i made a sliced almond crumb topping instead: 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of flour, 2-3 table spoons of meltd butter, 1/2 cup to a cup of sliced almonds- depending on prefrence. i also left out the extract because i didnt have it, but i added 1/2 cup lemon juice and the rind of 2 lemons and it was perfect. Tasted fabulous.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Very easy to make. Excellent instructions. Delicious! I had to make a cake in a hurry and jumped online to quickly find a recipe. The ingredients are pretty basic, so I had everything I needed... and 45 minutes later we were sitting around eating birthday cake. Normally with such short notice I would have just stopped by the grocery store to pick one up, but that wasn't an option this time... and the best thing was that everyone seemed to enjoy this cake so much more than store bought.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This pie was delicous and perfect! i really want a pie recipe that called for flour instead of cornstarch, i dont know why, i just really dislike the taste and consistancy of cornstarch. The only thing i changed is i used half blackberries and half raspberries, i had to use frozen because where i live, there is no blackberries and a little tiny half a pint is almost $6, so i used frozen for both. I added and extra 1/4 cup of sugar because of the tartness in frozen berries and an extra 2 tablespoons of flour because of the added liquid in frozen berries, and it was perfect. I used Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust, from this website and it turned out delisious. I also egg washed the crust and sprinkled with sugar to give it a beautifull golden color. Definately a keeper!!! thanks a lot!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
I have made a lot of icing types and this was not that great. I made it for my kids to use and they had a really hard time spreading it around. On the plus side it did set up nicely... it was firm, but not hard.

Easy Sugar Cookies

My dough was really crumbly so I had to add bit more liquid. Stil, the cookies were bland and tasted of raw flour...even after I baked them for the 8 min. On the plus side...they did stay soft.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
Great basic recipe. I use only oats and not the other grains (what I had on hand). I made 1/2 batch and cooked it in my crock pot, stirring occasionally, then setting it out too cool and "harden". That worked great and I did not have any burt granola! I have made this several times with different dried fruits and nuts. It is always yummy!

Very good for roasted potatoes. I think that I would dice the potatoes rather than leaving them in large pieces...more surface area for the seasoning!

Brick-Oven Pizza (Brooklyn Style)

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This turned out very well. I do not know if the "flavor" was that much better because it developed in the fridge over 16hrs... But it was still a nice and crispy/chewy crust. I do not that I would spend the extra time to make it again.
